  1. Well done Gloria . This young lady certainly earns her keep . How do you get the customer to keep the chip / log ?
  2. I always ask if it would be at all possible to clear the dog foul at least 2 days before . And also not let the dog foul again without picking it up straight away . Other wise if theres mess on the morning of the job I will walk . I have been known to pick the odd one up but it is not on really .
  3. Im sure youve posted some pics of your work before and it was top notch . I like the idea of pointing to web site if i had one , but I dont want to spend more dollars as Im after another truck .
  4. Well I do and I thought everyone did . I think anything that helps get the work has got to be done . Not just photos copys of certification and letters off previous customer saying how pleased they are with your work .Always hand over a business card .
  5. Oh yes . Would one care to use ones 66 or would one prefer the optimal cutting performance of the 88 wot wot:lol:. ASAP Yorkshireman .
  6. My very first welder was a Wiz arc which I still have today . It is a small stick welder with no fan so it cuts out after about 20 mins of welding . Although is great for small repairs , which is why someones always borrowed it . Next welder was a large stick welder from Machine Mart which has proven to be brilliant . Ive made chipper chutes , High sides for trailers ,transits and numerous repairs to all manner of machinery .Ive had it for about 7 yrs plus . I also have a mig but cant seem to get on with it . And like said before it is gasless so wire is expensive . good luck and happy hunting
  7. On contract work I quote a day rate 9 / 4 and always state weather and light permitting. Never had any one moan .
  8. Yeah I remember the speed line video seen it on you tube or somewhere . Nice one hope you enjoy Arbtalk . Ive found everyone helpful and all to willing to help with any problems .Take care . Paul
  9. I have a job over that way next week. If its still there I will get you some close up shots .
  10. I dont think so . It will probably go to the guy who will do it for the firewood or peanuts , God bless him . There are a lot of heavy limbs under a huge amount of pressure ,so he better have his thinking head on . Not to mention the suprise he ll get when he cuts the trunk and the root plate flys back towards the rd
  11. My garage is wall to wall carpet . Is a bit crap when ya welding .Second hand of course could do with a clean . May do the concrete paint thing summer time . Oh heated by Calor Gas .
  12. Yeah got pics on the right way . winner .
  13. This Beech was blown down into the field . You can see the trunk is hollow and a number of different fruitifications / fungi were dotted around the base and in the hedgerow . I,m sorry I only took a pic of one of the fungi . Anyway the the root plate was about 13 ft high . Situated next to a busy main Rd . Enjoy I hope the pics go on straight this time . Fingers crossed .
  14. Thank you very much kind Sir . I will no doubt have to solve the problem myself sooner or later .
  15. This tree had the top snapped out in the high winds a few weeks ago . Well as it was raining today we decided to get some of the little jobs out the way . Mind you I wish I had stayed in as my small rope is now minging Turned out well as customer asked me to take down a False Acacia , Robinia as it has been poorly for a few years and only one branch was flushing new growth . Sorry about the angle , Someone will have to set me straight regarding getting the pics . The second pic you can see one of our local door knockers stalking me . They are so fookin cheeky . He went knocking all the way round the close . Eyeing my tools up little mite .
  16. HAPPY DAYS . Nice one
  17. Most magnificent work there . What winch have you on your landy .
  18. Well it woke the dog up . How come you could see the birds head on nearly every sound apart from the chainsaw noise . Just my observation . Half expecting a Carlsberg moment at the end .
  19. Americas toughest jobs LOGGING sky channel 529 . History I think .
  20. HELLS BELLS Glad your all ok .
  21. I am at a point now where I just work enough to be comfortable . More time with family . Ever since slowing down I have started to value my time at a higher rate . So I tend price jobs higher . My motto is you can work all week and still be poor if your not careful .
  22. Yes the bad choice of words does detract from the comment . I never really took much notice . . I bet he feels better for getting it of his mind though .
