  1. Seen OCS a few times, good live band. Still rockin’ as well! I last saw them when Simon was about 10 stone lighter!
  2. 😂 That was a good night. Ricky and the boys were on form as far as I can remember….
  3. Haha, guilty! I have no recollection of ever meeting you!
  4. Good thread Eggs. I was a bit too young for punk, especially going to gigs, but I liked some of it, especially SLF. Did you ever get to see them? My best gig was The Smiths at Newcastle Mayfair in 87. Saw Iron Maiden twice at Newcastle City Hall when Paul Di’anno was still lead singer. The Pogues at Newcastle Mayfair in 88. Oasis at Maine Road. The Boss at Stadium of Light. GnR at Gateshead stadium. Loads more, but they’re the standouts. Great gigs, great times. I’m happy to draw a line under the live scene now and leave it to the young stagers, nothing modern really floats my boat. I also don’t want to be that sad old bastard in his fifties still thinking he’s down with the kids.
  5. I bet you didn’t want to be up there for long mate!
  6. Totally agree. The proper apprenticeship idea is a good one, but again why would you bother when you can just buy a doggy old truck, cheap chipper and a set of ladders and off you go?
  7. 100%. It would have to be full on like Gas-Safe or I-Cert though, and strictly enforced. We’d all be on twice as much money.
  8. Most of us don’t, we’re trying to make money. Arb work isn’t regulated like gas or sparky work. Until it is you’re pissing in the wind I’m afraid krummholz. The truth is you’re either self rescuing or you’re bolloxed.
  9. Get in John, glad he’s doing so well. Well done for toughing through it together.
  10. It’s a joke Dave. What’s an investigation going to discover? That they’re all a bunch of self-serving, lying bastards? We knew that already. Move on police, go and catch some criminals.
  11. Honeys, Skyland and Gustharts are all excellent, and can usually deliver next day. I’ve also found Sorbus good for sourcing bits that other companies don’t stock.
  12. Fixing through the troughs is the accepted way forward on box profile. As Peter says, decent screws are important. And I’ve been there on the ridges thing!
  13. 😂 SRT without a Ropewrench is hard going though! I’ve done it a few times if the ridges are rope friendly.
  14. They won’t even swap them now, only credit them to your account.
  15. Ross White has one on his diesel WQ but I don’t know how he gets on with it yet.
  16. Looks great! Would it work with a diddy little 25l compressor do you reckon Bob? Would be handy for cleaning the crud off chipper blades before sending off for sharpening, and loads of other stuff.
  17. @Ty Korrigan has those, and the same ballistic shorts.
  18. Contact this dude. He wants to franchise a mega-arb company. Not my cup of tea, but we are living in strange times. Tree Surgeon North London | Barnet | Enfield | Tree Removal WWW.THORSTREES.CO.UK The go to company for tree surgeon services in North London. Specialist in tree removal in Barnet and...
