  1. Thank God someone out there knows what they are doing! Included bark? Weak unions? Nothing a good topping won't fix. £500 quid alright? Cash only I'm afraid. Orders from the tax office.
  2. Homer Simpson holding up a can of Duff beer. With an unidentified object left of him.... Do I win a pair of Stretch Air trousers?
  3. Leave that lovely Oak tree alone! It's not doing you any harm! Etc etc..... I'm with Dean on this. Should have been culled in infancy.
  4. Think that one might have been a bit too much for the pikeys anyway Tim! Cracking job on a big, awkward tree, Marc. Well done to the whole team. Did you need power shutdown both days?
  5. The bundles of cash and the massive respect we command from the well informed, always willing to listen, no utterly wrong pre-conceived ideas about trees general public. "My trees need a good hard prune / topping". Love it.
  6. Masterblaster's local dealer has them in stock, I believe.
  7. Call the cops! The culprits may be on CCTV! Muppets. Zero respect.
  8. That was me testing my new splitting maul.... Delayed reaction to lightning strike? It does look well cool mate. Good call to leave it.
  9. Danny, ditto what Rupe just said. I was worried the velcro wouldn't even be safe, let alone comfy! Needless to say it's both. Phew! Carbon Geckos here, year old next month and minimal signs of wear. A big tip for other users - take the bloody things off when you are on the ground! They last much longer this way. Most people in Canterbury High Street don't really care if you are a tree climber or not!
  10. Haix Trekker Mountain here. Very, very comfy and can be in spikes all day and not notice. Also Goretex lined - I have never had cold or wet feet. Usually last about 18 months then the sole peels away from the upper at the toe end.
  11. No back pocket? Where am I going to keep my cash? Oh, that's right. I will have spent it all on my new trousers....
  12. Hopefully start next week. I'll let you know when it's in the bag because of various sensitive issues surrounding the job.
  13. Hi-viz should be an industry standard really, as it makes such good sense. I just don't like wearing it, though, and it seems to attract insects like mad. It's normally pretty obvious where I am in a tree or on the ground anyway. It's where all the swearing is coming from!
  14. Stretch Airs are miles ahead in this race so far. I'm quite glad in a way, because I have given Stihl far too much money over the years and they still utterly refuse to make a decent bar cover for the bigger saws. I'll just break the news to the wife that there will be no holiday this year because I want to buy a pair of Stretch Air.
  15. Cheers Stevie. They do different colours then?
  16. That would make more sense financially then, even though it's a bit of a stinger initially. Are they as comfy to climb in? Also, I am quite dwarf-like. You are a 6 1/2 foot giant are you not? Do you know if they do different leg lengths?
  17. On my 6th pair of Hiflex now, never seem to get more than a year out of them, although I do like them generally. How do they compare to Stretch Airs? And which type of Stretch Airs should I go for if I switch? Comments preferred from people who have actually worn both, although I do enjoy a bit of completely off topic and inane babble from members who have no experience of the matter being discussed.
  18. As luck would have it, we can burn the brush on site. And a couple of tons of sawdust I reckon.

    Tachyon

How are the ankles doing ATree? You been dancing yet?
  20. Easy. If you look closely you can see the decomposing corpse of a tree surgeon in the crown. Tragically, he died of old age waiting for an EDF shutdown date....
  21. Blue stain? There is half a bloody flying bomb in there! We will probably take all the brush off and get it all flat on the deck in sections, then look at milling possibilities. Even lying on it's side parts of it are 35' above the ground. You wouldn't want it rolling on your toe...
  22. Cracking work there Tim.
