  1. Anyone who thinks electric cars are the way forward is deluded beyond belief. As in so deluded they can’t understand reasonable arguments.
  2. It’s an old workhorse mate, that in 106,0000 miles has tipped many, many totally illegal loads. Of course i’ll update, good or bad. You should know that Conor. Arbtalk wouldn’t be the source of information it is without the cum-shot, so to speak.
  3. The manufacturing takes place abroad Conor, so there is no environmental impact on us. You idiot.
  4. Surrey Police have issued this picture of the getaway vehicle.
  5. Update. Checked leads and terminals as best I could, nothing obvious. Tried to tip with 2 lads lifting, no way. Eventually got the body up with the loader, but there was no pressure in the ram at all. The body literally dropped straight down as soon as I dropped the loader head. Booked in with the hydraulic boys on Thursday morning.
  6. Seems strange how it’s just died slowly if it’s dodgy connections though. You’d think it would just be YES or NO. What’s the easiest way of getting the tipper up to get to the pump?
  7. No manual pump. LED tipper control in the cab seems to think everything is fine. I’ll try and get to the terminals later Mick, be a pig of a job from underneath.
  8. Thanks Gareth. Do you think I can discount battery issues on the fact that the truck starts fine and there is obviously still power getting to the pump somehow? New pump isn’t something I’d take on myself. There are some hydraulic boys just up the road from me who are meant to be pretty good.
  9. My venerable old 06 Transit has a problem. It has been getting really sluggish to tip over the last week or so, although it seems fine on the down cycle. I checked the hydraulic oil level a few days ago and it seemed fine. This morning I tried to tip it (empty) so I could check the battery connections etc., but it would only tip a couple of inches. There is power getting there, but seemingly not enough. Where should I start looking? Twin batteries under drivers seat. The truck starts no problem. The problem now of course is that I can’t get underneath the body to check anything over.

  11. It’s not very well written is it?
  12. Aye, they’ve got some way to go until they work themselves to the bone.
  13. How dare you assume their gender?
  14. It’s not solid, it’s already processed and split.

  16. My Thai green chicken curry was a bit runny tonight (thigh fillets and breast mix), so I just blended a bit of plain flour which is considered a huge, lumpy, congealing no-no. Worked a treat. No pics, because it’s all gone!
  17. That looks pretty smart mate, I’d climb on it. The kit has to be certified in the first place though, before the LOLER 6 month thing becomes a worry. You can’t make one out of some braided tampon strings and a couple of napkin rings and just say ‘I’ll be alright for 6 months’.
  18. I’d go wood as well, but a lot depends on budget. A decent 8x8 shiplap will be well north of £1k. Like others have said, felt is shit really. I’d go for profile sheets every time now.
  19. Lenser are pretty good mate, I got a couple from Skyland for the twins for illicit bedtime reading. They were good enough for me to buy one for myself. Simple on/off button and spot to flood by pulling the shroud. And you won’t have to sell your loader/Sailor/kidney to afford one.
  20. I’ve changed my mind. I think your logs are worth just over one million pounds.

  22. If you were selling it to customers yourself I would say you could get £120/m3, but if you’re selling it to someone else you won’t get near that.
