  1. There isn’t room in the garden to fit the tree in if you took it down in a day. You’d be 4’ deep in timber on the ground.
  2. Hand tools are fine, maybe even beneficial in this case. Picking it apart slowly and feeding a small fire will give all the critters a chance to escape. With enough time and patience you can piss a hole in a stone.

  4. As a total bender, I’m well within my rights not to want to bust my arse (for want of a better phrase) for some millionaire who has put themselves in a situation where they have a huge compromised tree in a garden the size of my bathroom.

  6. If you don’t ask you don’t get! Worth mentioning when discussing a quote.
  7. Depends on access and drop zone, but RC is right, it’s not a big job. My minimum is £150 these days.
  8. You’ve got a good eye mate, that’s pretty much exactly what I’d go for.
  9. I would bring the ‘shoulders’ in as well.
  10. It’s been hammered before. If you don’t reduce those slender leaders at some point you might have problems, regrowth is never as well attached as naturally grown limbs.
  11. Right back atcha Doug! Wordle 1,334 2/6 🟨🟩⬜⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  12. Jesus. I hope you replaced that divot!
  13. Crew were probably based in the midlands Rich, cheaper quote!
  14. Well explained. No one is getting that down in a day, there’s not enough room on the ground. The drag must have been horrendous. I shifted the timber from a similar sized beech last year that a decent company took 4 days to get on the ground, albeit days were probably 8-4. When I say shifted, I stacked it in the garden with a mini loader. The customer then hired in a decent hydraulic splitter and sorted himself out with a lifetimes supply of firewood.

  19. Trick question - it’s ALL of them! Take that, bot!
  20. Any of the big firms would take you on mate, Ground Control etc. If you fancy the midlands Beechwood out of Coventry are always receptive to good staff. Bridglands at Cranbrook would be worth a call if you want to stay more local.
  21. I bet you said Aspen you Yuppie scum. You’re lucky you got in tbh.
