  1. You don't need to be insured to use a chainsaw.
  2. It is funny. To be fair, he's probably hard as nails.
  3. I'm surprised. I thought he would have gone to Arrrrrrrr-gos.
  4. Poncy Ecig still going well for me after 2 1/2 years. Toffee apple flavour chasing down a bottle of Shiraz tonight.
  5. Reg can you put up some windfirming footage with a brief intro/explanation commentary if you get the chance when you do it? I can't imagine climbing some of those trees without spikes, although I'm pretty sure I've seen you do it before (it was lashing down). Is it basically thinning single stem connies, or do the tops go as well?
  6. I stay as local as possible. It's the pricing that kills it. If someone I have no contact with finds me on the Internet to price a job 30 miles away that could kill the best part of a Saturday morning. Only to hear 'sorry, the local guy was a bit cheaper'. Really? I wonder why? As said, multiple chip and log runs play a part as well. I actually do enjoy the occasional away trip though, as I price them high and enjoy the drive back knowing I'm temporarily rich beyond my wildest dreams.
  7. Did you sell the other one to a pirate?
  8. Nice vid mate, some cracking angles.
  9. I've taken stuff back to b&q and they've said it's not their problem, send it back to the manufacturer, they guaranteed it, not b&q.
  10. Changed slightly to fit in with my method....
  11. Stunning location Reg. Was it your own job?
  12. Odd moments of good rugby from a young England team against a powerful Aussie lineup. Pretty much what I expected. Well done the Wallabies. I really enjoyed watching the All Blacks beating Georgia last night, and they were roundly slated after running in 7 tries. It's hotting up. I'm off to get a red dragon tattoo.
  13. The 'rules' are there to protect us, I understand that, but with experience you learn that it's best to bend them to your skill level. Joe raised a good point about cutting and holding. I'm pretty good at not doing it generally, but needs must when the devil drives. Better off doing it properly then. Anchored high in a nice oak taking down a skinny decayed ash below it? Secondary anchor my anus. Vice like monkey grip with legs ready for a quick bail-out please. Working below a live tree without a lid? Never Trevor, whatever the weather.
  14. Not wearing proper ppe. Haven't worn chainsaw keks or boots for months.
  15. Tight squeeze Ty, the lads done well.
  16. Bad one I saw last week (semi mature) was in Sheldwich Alan, hard by the 251.
  17. You don't need an app. If it's got needles it's a conny. If it hasn't and you don't know what it is, it's a Hornbeam. If it's got no leaves or needles, it's dead. Or a utility pole. Or maybe winter. The rest is just common sense.
  18. Who cares? We'll all be dead by then.
  19. I switched 2 1/2 years ago. It's obviously not as good as stopping completely, but I certainly feel better for it and it's cheap, even compared to rollies.
  20. I try mate! Where've you been? I've missed your acerbic wit!
  21. Well done Maria. Lose the stubs though. I know it's counter-intuitive, but they're painful if you slip.
  22. We all know some jobs are very enjoyable, and some aren't, but what's your favourite job within the tree game? Usual flippant crap welcome (Newton), like smoking tabs in the truck when it's lashing down, etc. I've always enjoyed chogging stems down into a decent drop zone. The brash is off, the greenhouse and BT line are intact, basically the battle is won and you can almost taste the BACS transfer. What's yours?
