  1. Are you sure you've got that the right way round Andy?
  2. I've read every Jo Nesbo, they're excellent, especially the Harry Hole series. Best read in the correct order. Currently just tearing through 2 for £7 crime crap from Tesco's with mixed results. I like the Stephen Booth cop stuff set in the Peak District.
  3. I would say all good climbers can be fast if the job calls for it. We've all seen 'fast' climbers crashing stuff down swamping the groundies, so the job actually takes twice as long.
  4. Slow news day yesterday? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  5. Glad you resurrected this thread Dave, I couldn't find it anywhere! I'll comment after I get the monsters to bed. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  6. Tight spot there Stevie, nice one. I used to use 34m Brontos most days in telecomms Steve. They're pretty solid even at full stick. 17.5 tonne.
  7. I would have climbed it, out to the tips. They've never failed before. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  8. I hear exactly what Ben is saying. The problem is modern vehicles can very, very expensive very quickly when out of warranty. My wife has a D4 on a straight 3- year hire, hand the keys back afterwards, no worries ever, if it breaks it's replaced. Lovely car. Would I want to own it in 10 years? No. I've got an 11 year old Transit and a 20 year old Fiesta (GTi). Works for us. Horses for courses. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  9. I did tell you Will. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  10. I heard this morning that the cash-in-hand economy is about £6 billion. How do they know that? It must actually be more than that, because they don't know about my stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  11. I read that in Hort Week as well Richy, and Bristol are by no means the only one. It's worrying. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  12. Hi Nick, You've posted in the Employment section offering your freelance services, but this is locked for replies and you haven't included your mobile no. or email. Just a heads-up mate. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  13. Did you try and drive through it? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  14. I've seen it in Noosa in Queensland. Dead pines in front of a swanky new house. The enormous billboard erected between them said 'These trees were illegally poisoned to obtain a sea view'. Classic.
  15. Good work mate. Hope he's ok.
  16. I think that's unrealistic commercially Edward. Our LA has a very good interactive map system for TPO's and CA's, anything else is surrounded by hours of telephonic robot hell, ignorance, lack of response or good old fashioned lies and deceit. Remember this may apply to multiple queries in any week. Life is too short.
  17. That's exactly the way I see it. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  18. Phew!!! [emoji481] Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  19. I do check online, and there's nothing there. I'm not going down the whole Hercule Poirot route every time I'm asked to fell a tree. I make an exception for decent specimens, mind. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  20. 10. Jensen - nearly as good as Timberwolf. [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  21. It's the sort of thing my dad would say, without any racist intent whatsoever. He's definitely not a racist, in his own words he 'likes the darkies'. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  22. I bet it's the same one I used Joe![emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  23. The problem I've encountered Paul is that when I've been asked to fell a tree I've done the usual CA and TPO checks and nothing has shown up. If the customer either doesn't know about the planning condition, or doesn't want to tell me I have zero visibility. For the record I have felled a few and precisely nothing has happened.
  24. I've never understood this 'planning condition' murk personally. If a tree is worthy of a TPO, put a TPO on it!
  25. I would guess the tree is protected by planning conditions, rather than TPO. This is pretty common.
