  1. I like the look of this one.
  2. What I have noticed is that people who have done well for themselves tend to work harder and longer. Not all rich people were given their money. I don't see anything wrong with tax at a flat rate across the board. People wouldn't be so tempted to avoid it if it was fairer system.
  3. Thanks for explaining Tommy. Spot on. Apart from the very last bit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Looking good Reg. How long is the bed? I fancy a king cab tipper, but would be restricted to a 6' bed on a standard Jap truck over here.
  5. Sorry Steve, 2nd coolest then Giorgio.
  6. That last pic has to be one of the coolest shots in arb history.
  7. Glyphosate sprayed over the fence. I’d crack on with another assault case.
  8. I tried to commit suicide once. Fuck doing that again. I nearly killed myself!
  9. You know me Belly Lad - Gone in 60 seconds!
  10. Doesn’t stop it being a great vid amico! You could add comments about how you would do the job now that more advanced techniques are available (I can’t think of many though!), and you’re a bit older, wiser and possibly heavier, like the rest of us! @Steve Bullmanis nearly 140kg now, I believe.
  11. That’s the one J. My folks had an old Northumbrian farmhouse with a massive stone chimney. They used to slumber the fire overnight (they kind of had to, Northumbrian winters often meant ice inside my bedroom windows in an uninsulated old place). The volume of soot swept out every year filled bag after bag. Proper big, furry soot.
  12. Bellissimo! I remember the vid of the big redwood - there are a couple of shots of it in there. One of my favourite tree vids ever. You should put it up again! There were some very interesting looking techniques in that short vid. Hope you’re well, looked like you were having fun!
  13. I was wrong to suggest there is ‘loads’ about softwood Andy. I am prone to exaggeration of size and volume. My wife will confirm this. I don’t want to put anyone off the book, it’s fantastic and I’d recommend it to anyone. The big lesson it contains is that you should crack on with your supply in the spring, even if for the following winter, taking advantage of the summer heat to dry processed logs. Re softwood - I’ve always burnt loads. My flue is swept once a year and it’s always clean as a whistle. I burn hardwoods as well. I’m not suggesting that conny is as good as the beech, ash, hornbeam, cherry and birch I also burn, but I like feeding the fire in the winter, which you have to more often with soft. I like the ‘action’ behind the glass, and the crackling and popping. Take that you dirty macrocarpa bastard! I remember taking you down..... It HAS to be bone dry. After a day in the sleet I like the fire ripping, red hot, with me sat in my pants. Then the wife comes in wearing just a towel. The towel slips off. There is sweat on her inner thighs. I move my head towar
  14. Same really. 2511 540 (hardly gets a look in) 560 18” 660 25”
  15. Joking, but he does burn a lot of dry conny. So do I, it’s great. I need to get the book back Andy so I can dig out the bits I’m on about.
  16. On loan at the minute Andy, but there is stacks of info about pine ‘the big game of the firewood hunter’. It doesn’t for a minute promote it over hardwoods, but it’s there alright. I’ll get it back and check the issue no. and get some pics. Might take a while, mind. My mate had to move when his house burnt down after a chimney fire.
  17. Superb filming Giorgio. Looks brilliant. Where is the full length version?!
  18. Great vid Reg. Do they have bears there?
  19. Great book, and lots and lots of spot-on info about seasoning and burning softwood.
  20. Identical experience and thoughts here Bill. My 440 handled the 25 ok, just cut at it’s own pace. I think we should all just do what we’re happiest with. People are built differently, different heights, different arm lengths etc.
  21. Same. I’ve got a 36” when required, but that almost permanently lives on a hook in the workshop.
  22. Morons. It’s the big sticky-out bit at the front. You can hardly miss it, it’s 36” long on my Ryobi.
  23. This thread is getting way too complicated. Everyone knows if you put a bigger blade on a saw it makes it more powerful.
