  5. my tarrif is the orange racoon 25. but I get a 10% loyalty discount. I managed to convince them to let me have the decent upgrade as I dont have a good signal in the village and dont use my mobile as much as I would like to, my landline and broadband is with orange as well, I think my total combind bill is about 30-40 per month when I was living and working up in leicester my mobile bill was normally between 70-100 per month plus broadband and landline:scared1:
  6. I would take that beast of a dog of yours as protection!
  7. Ive just got a new storm, its brilliant, try not to keep it in my pocket whilst working though.
  8. Is this the same trip you asked me about last week?? I personally would go and enjoy the chance to surf a new spot, its a once in a lifetime opportunity. If I had a passport and a bit more spare cash, I would of been joining you.
  9. normally run it over a decent anchor point and tie it off on the base of the tree, usually connected to a figure of 8 just in case you need to get lowered
  10. Mabye you should up your day-rate, and if you get no work you wont need to buy new kit, but if you do you can justify it? Everything costs more, even my nice coffee, there are cheaper brands, but they taste nasty, so I take the hit on buying the one I like. And if people stop buying, companies will vanish then things become more expensive anyway. I see the point you are trying to make, but it is just a fact of life, we just have to learn to deal with it and just sit tight and ride the storm:alien:
  11. Im sure there will be a few of us comming up from North Devon for the weekend, and we may even bring some local scrumpy to share with our fellow arbtalkers. How about getting a job-lot of 'arbtalk' tee's printed, so we can spot fellow members?
  12. I think you just have to adapt and overcome, learn new techniques that save wear and tear on the body, perfect things like footlocking, or srt etc, it is surprising at how much easier it is on the body.
  13. Shrek let his neighbour know excataly what he thought of the socks and sandals combination.
  14. I know it, not been up there for ages though. Its got some great walks up there, I think Bellever tor is about 1500ft, and has some awsome views.
  15. Friday- Left appledore for exmouth at 5.30am, took till 9.30pm to get to tiverton (35miles) after spinning off and having to wait. got to tiverton and followed snow plough through brampton, where he suddenly came to an abrupt halt after hitting a big snow drift, turned round and headed back, road blocked by some fallen trees, spent the next few hours cutting fallen trees off the road, with the local farmer towing away the main stems. It turned out to be a good day and I saw a great sense of community spirit with everyone chipping in to help and also bring coffee, and have possibly got a fair bit of work from it, all the locals wanted business cards! And to top it off I got back to the village and my gran made a big fry-up for me . But it has prompted me to save my backside off to buy a 4x4.
  16. -winnie the poo didnt have this problem looking for honey thought the horse. - bleading horse canker?
  17. Next time the Mrs drags me round the supermarket, im going to open a case of cider and get totally wasted! might make the whole experience a bit more bareable.
