  1. Many thanks:thumbup1:
  2. You can sell used kit with or without a loler inspection, put it on arbtrader or ebay
  3. Its one of those funny looking squares you see on adverts and the like, it works like a bar code, you "scan" it with your phone and it gives you whatever info is embedded, often takes you to a website
  4. What about adding one of those QR code blocks, the tech savvy will like that.
  5. Who has a string of fancy numbers, what are fancy numbers anyway? I have a phone number, its a string but I don't think its fancy:laugh1:
  6. That fixed it, how did you do that with the I phone? Please say its a free app......
  7. Your friend got put right (by me and others) because he was talking shyte, up till this posting you weren't. Just so you know, when you see a smiley, that's one of these:laugh1:, it generally means humour, to be taken in a light hearted manner. So just what is it that your statement isn't inviting me to? (that mean confused, just in the interest of clarity)
  8. Isn't that the truth, I saw split an overdrive unit clean apart.
  9. Lately we call that a risk assessment, it used to be called "giving it a looking at":laugh1:
  10. Back when your fingers did the walking, didn't you write a book?
  11. Get a website, ( if you haven't already) and put the URL on the van with your phone number
  12. Your vid comes up as private
  13. A bit like giving your granny a pair of running shoes, she will do it but not for long
  14. Christmas Easter and birthday and no payload worth speaking of....
  15. I would need to be careful what I took as truth when you keep putting false information into it?
  16. There you go again changing the subject and I didn't say anyone else didn't know what they were talking about, only you. Nice attempt at deflection though
  17. Its usually the bearings that go first
  18. You are as wrong bout this as all the other things, you visited one country for a week or so. Hardly comprehensive. FYI the UK vat at 20% is the lower end of things some are as high as 25% until fairly recently we were at 17.5% and that was the low lows European Union value added tax - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  19. I have done it but it wasn't what I would call fun, if you had a custom made trailer then it would be simple as.
  20. Not really suitable, it would be too brittle for that application and welding a high carbon steel to a mild steel base will give problems of its own. Boron steels like hardox are designed for jobs like this.
  21. Its probably a rumour started by UKIP to recruit every tree surgeon in the land :laugh1:
  22. If you want it smooth use a flap disc 10 Pack 115 x 22.2mm Zirconium Flap discs, sanding angle grinder flap disc 60G | eBay Other brands and markets are available
  23. How is it more government? Its anything but more government. It is the HSE saying regulate this yourselves or there will have to be more government. What you believe about any government isn't relevant, you certainly seem to have a bee in your bonnet about your government or at least the current administration and your sphincter You assertion of tyranny is ridiculous, its an elected government, if you don't like it vote them out, you can do that, its only tyranny if you don't have representation. What is relevant is that under UK law the HSE has a DUTY to act if workers are getting injured or killed, they have identified forestry as a place where that happens and are fulfilling that duty. Would you be happier if it were a free for all and never mind if little Billy's dad gets a trip to the ER and a permanent disability or comes home in a box?
  24. What kind of change the subject twaddle is that? Of course the HSE is funded by government and thus by taxes but the HSE already exists, if this move takes HSE man hours its costing the government and it most certainly isn't going to The government wont earn a penny from this, the HSE wont earn a penny from this, its a cost item. Now you mention the government providing this for free, interesting that, because if you took a moment to study this you would see that they are doing as close to that as they can. The HSE have said to the industry "regulate yourself or we will", the HSE can only regulate with primary legislation and an enforcement team, drafting a bill and getting it through parliament is monumentally expensive and maintaining an enforcement team is worse. The way they are doing this avoids that expense and so comes at a minimum cost to the public and at the same time supports the market economy that's so sacred to you. So its not a "layer of government control" its industry self regulation in an effort to stop people getting maimed and killed. There is good history of that being successful in the UK. The HSE did exactly this to the gas industry in the UK because they were killing people. Now gas installers have to be licenced, by a self regulatory body. Search this archive for the posts where UK arborist have said that a similar scheme would be a good thing to regulate the rouges in our industry, then consider that this could be the first step on a road that. I to can remember when people would look after themselves and I an remember a time when employers could send any old clown out with a chainsaw and no idea. So how's Obamas second term going, I know nowt about US politics but I recon he is doing sterling work in all sectors..........
  25. And this is of course your opinion of one mans work, it could be you your opinion is wrong, it could also be that the man you saw wasn't up to scratch, either way its hardly going to condemn the system is it?
