  1. OH YEAH!...Been looking forward to your news Ben...three vids...that,s worth watching on the Big T.V in HD:thumbup: Gonna stick some Pea and Ham soup on...that,s my supper viewing sorted!
  2. Ah yes...the Concept Unimog! it would look great on somewhere like Mars...But i,d still prefer the one on the right...
  3. here,s your picture John....which one are you?
  4. Cheers OMT..like i said before..i prove myself on the Day...Actions speak louder than words:001_rolleyes: This thread is to share my world and inspire to those who need inspiration and hope...if me and my trusty Silky can do it...SO CAN YOU!
  5. Thanks lads...on this one i best keep my cards close to my chest...i,ll wait for them chickens to hatch!...lets just say i did a favour for a fellow Arborist a few years ago...and years later, out of the blue he,s contacted me and suggested i applied for this job. i think it,s called "Karma":awink:
  6. Rotated:biggrin: i,m up North very soon and gonna pop in, it looks like a Great Shop! Went to J.M Raines near Spennymoor for Years...time i checked out Gustharts!
  7. You keep a spare retrieval ball with your house keys...
  8. With a Silky Natanoko i can out cut a branch tearing a lot of the time...it's just technique.
  9. Yep! i,m a fan:thumbup:
  10. I wouldn't know about that...when my silky moves forward through the kerf i use the lightest of touches almost like i am playing a violin:rolleyes: then hit the Nitros and drag it back...use a Silky like an extension of your arm...Combine it with a Sawpod and it becomes a part of your body...A silky is a unique cutting device in that it is highly recommended that you use it ONE HANDED! cut well away from any other part of your anatomy.... Also wash it in warm water and i also clean out the teeth...a clean Silky is a happy Silky:D
  11. A silky can cut any size Diameter branch you are prepared to put the elbow grease into...I have felled trees twice the length of the blade and re-pollarded london planes entirely with a silky with lots and lots of telephone wires running through the crown..it,s as sharp as a chainsaw its just that the engine is your arm...with a Silky in my hand i have a 044 arm:001_rolleyes: if you cut your handle arm or hand with a silky then you,re doing something very wrong!
  12. A small handsaw it may be...but a Razor blade is Tiny...
  13. Your Silky saw cuts on the "Pull" stroke only...Frantic Carving away at a branch will only end in tears. As with a chainsaw, cutting from one side only can eventually trap the saw and forcing the saw through the last flap of cambium again can cause the saw to exit at an unexpected angle and cause injury. Holding wood near to the saw blade as you cut is where you see most injuries. if your silky catches even the smallest bit of twig or frith it can jump (Silky Kickback!)
  14. Look forward to it....heizohacks are great:cool:
  15. Master splicers....and the size of that braiding machine!
  16. I've read "the woodcutter's tale" a couple of times Johny...he was certainly one of the original tree cutters and a very interesting read for learning how things used to be done:thumbup::thumbup:
  17. Cover photos | Facebook Loobys Loops is her page...she designs and makes teddy,s curtains and other girlie type sewing type things and stuff
  18. Little Oscar recieved his Tree Teddy through the post today....Teddy towers over him at the moment:lol: The lass who made it for me is very busy on the run up to Xmas....But is contactable through her Facebook page which is.....
  19. Normally i save my Airstreams exclusivly for climbing..but the weather and ground were so damp and muddy i wore them today (with white socks)...these are an amazingly good boot...9 hours later my feet and socks were dry as a bone and still persil white:rolleyes:
  20. After my exciting morning i helped my friend in the garden i cleared for her..it will pay my rent for the week...moved two tons of topsoil into the garden for her ready for a dry day and the turf to be laid...this space was hidden by 30 years of neglect before we cleared it.....
