  2. Finally....SNOW!! the morning started well...milder than the rest of the week...but heavy snow was predicted. In Five years i have only seen real snow once in London so i was really looking forward to the white stuff:cool: i was looking forward to today as we found another re pollard to do and it was mine and my groundie promised to take a couple of photos...these poplars were condemmed years ago and were like pepperpots at the top and wobbled about through the climb so cut it with care,balancing it as i went...started to snow so that made my day:thumbup: great cycle ride home...smiling to myself as i watch the Londoners...they look terrifed:D and there is only a few centimetres of snow! When i was a kid i remember deep snow every winter walking to school...have a great White weekend Arbtalkers!

  5. On route to London to re pollard a large Poplar...Zero degrees...hope it snows...will look great on the photo's

  8. Dexter Elm planted 1666 visited by george washington..circumference 35 feet...in an account at that time it says it lived for 253 years then died because of a drought in it's final year and an infestation of leopard moth!

  12. It is indeed a TP front mounted chipper on a city suburban Mog from my old firm based at Stockwell...Not only are Mogs perfect arb vehicles City Sub. Have a lot of Park work and if a tree comes down etc. You need a vehicle that can deal with every eventuality...as for driving around central London...the visibility that high off the ground is ideal. You havent lived until you've been in a Unimog round Marble Arch or Piccadily Circus:D They even have one of Stephen Blairs old Mogs!
  13. WOW!..A day of low's and now...Ultimate highs! I have recieved a letter that has both honoured me and humbled me at the same time...i never expected anything like this to happen to me and yet it is the recognition i have always dreamed of bearing i just wanted to inspire those who needed inspiration...that's all. i have arrived at a point in my life where i can say..i know who i am. THANK YOU CHRIS...STEVE AND MOST OF ALL,THANK YOU "ARBTALK".

  16. Very sad news this morning of a helicopter crash into a crane at Vauxhall...photo taken by a lad i used to work with at City Suburban Tree Surgeons...crash happened just along the road from their yard. Pilot died..R.I.P
