  1. data tags or micro dots are good but wont deter thieves just hit resale of their nicked goods. TER is again a good thing to be registered with, both my ifors and chippers are on there. bit off topic but we had one of our race bikes stolen whilst it was being prepared for a beach race. pikey took it with a few crucial, main dealer only parts missing. luckily it was a rare model of bike, we informed the 2 dealers in the country of the model and frame & engine numbers and what parts were missing. heard nothing for 2 months then we got a call saying someone had quoted frame number to order parts that we listed. police were involved and we got bike back, best bit was the police left the tag on handle bars saying where bike was recovered from, needless to say he got a visit
  2. loader mounted knockers are good but prematurely wear bushes and pins. you still really want the mast to be side mounted as you dont wanna be having to shunt for each post, especially if you tow a fencing trailer and/ or wire winder behind. i have used knockers on tractors, bobcats, converted dumpers and excavators upto 25ton, still reckon mog and knocker is most versatile setup
  3. good luck with the sales mate, watch out for the no feedback bidders, i had one mess me round with my old hilux, came to collect truck from farm when i was at work and tried nicking a £1000 warn winch sitting on trailer in yard, thought he got away with it til i met him up farm drive in the mog, needless to say he didnt get far!
  4. is that ur forwarder for sale on fleabay?
  5. my old knocker was real basic, 2.4m steel rsj with a plate welded in to. single acting ram with small diameter inner stancion, large diameter hydraulic hose and expansion spring to really pull the weight down, 300kg hammer weight really knocked them in well. also helps if you put a free flow return back into back axle or hydraulic tank coz if u go thru spool block it wont let fluid move quick enough
  6. dont be tempted to put lots of fancy hydraulic slewing headstocks and adjustments coz as soon as the pins or bushes wear you end up with loads of movement when u hit the posts. all you really need is sideshift, and hydraulic top link and ur there
  7. post punchers are ok but you have such limited vision of the post it lets them down, also if your knocking square or large diameter strainers they dont generally fit.
  8. i know some concils in south east require 10m liability
  9. in a single day over 30 vehicles were towed and impounded, granted the pikey scrap collectors were pulled up yet so were legit companies who honestly new nothing about this. i spent over an hour in the E A office yesterday trying to find out whether i need one or not (which i / we do!)
  10. the old bill are actually quite hot on it around our area, in fact the police are setting up camp on the forecourt of the garage at the end of the farm drive for next 2 days. bout 3 months ago they did the same and confiscated chip trucks and their wagons, builders vehicles farm vehicles etc. i was chatting to the owners of the vehicles and barely any new they needed a license
  11. he was an old fella that lived around 15 miles from me, there was a long story about it on local news. looked proper nasty!!
  12. ive got a browns contractors knocker on my unimog and used plenty of other brands, i do roughly 8000 meters of stock fencing a year with mine. any help advice or photos you need just let me know, would be happy to help. i also built 2 knockers for local farmers who do small fencing progect and couldnt justify a new one
  13. you certainly like bright colours! i will post a pic when i work out how to do it!!! used to do alot of off roading round kent but they seem to be stopping most of it locally
  14. im down near ashford, i always see a tree surgeons 110 the same colour as ur zuk locally, thought u were part of same firm
  15. im sure i seen that about before. where in kent u at?
  16. hope it aint as tree surgery orientated as my hilux, 37" tyres, 10 " suspension lift, twin winches and tipper conversion. goes anywhere but an ass to load with equipment!
  17. thought the one at woodlands looked familiar
  18. where were the uk pics taken mate?
  19. the "real" cars probably broke down on the way! where i lived in oz they said, to go to the bush buy a landie, to go to the bush and get home buy a toyota!!
  20. if it was nice wood i would of been loading the mog before i loaded it into the cranbo!!! majority of is wood furniture mixed with garden waste
  21. nice bits of kit there, so does all the chip you produce stay in this country? a company i do a bit for sends 5 artic loads to belgium every day for their power stations. pretty low grade stuff mind you, generally wood waste from council yards
  22. does the mog have the accumulator tank on rear? on mine you just turn the tap on rear crossmember and it puts the linkage into float which acts as soft ride for lift arms. works well for my chipper or post knocker which weigh over a ton
  23. in that case it is local then. only 5 mins from northiam! thought i would of seen some of that nice looking kit of yours flying past
  24. buzz, where are ahs based? saw number on side of chipper at the apf and looked local to me.
  25. had the same problem with people thieving firewood, only thing these werent logs, 30 foot odd lengths of ash 18" diameter, enough timber to fill a football field, thieving pikeys craned it over fence from where i skidded it out to! gutted, great way to start new year!
