interesting concept, wonder what kind of cut it delivers. ie. clean severed or possibilty not cut right through. have you seen any demos or vids of it working?

so the blades are on the infeed? distance between blades governing the size of the end product??

what type of cutting / chipping action is used?, from you earlier descrition it sounds like an up to date, more mechanised version of the old browns log chopper which had manual infeed rather than hydraulic.

all i can say is make sure you have the work to justify it. why not hire a tractor in when needed, you then dont have the outlay for machinery maintenance etc. whenever i need extra machinery i can get a 220hp 50k tractor for £100 a day plus fuel,i just charge it into the job. i got a 130hp mog i paid 7k for knowing it needed tidying up. spent another 3k on it sorting out little problems and fitting a few extra bits i needed and am very happy with the result. i do around 12,000 meters of agricultural fencing a year so when its not doing that its hauling timber or doing paddock maintenance.

was it other tree surgeons that got knocked over? just saying this as u mentioned an mx bike as well, i been followed back from races along with many others, they seem to target race meetings and practice tracks

sorry to hear about that mate, u had some rotten luck. thieving gits, i caught someone having a go at my chipper out in the yard and let em have a few rounds with the browning out kitchen window, ended up blowing a hole in diesel tank next to it but i aint had any trouble since.

a friend of mine is a steel stock holder and they are saying steel price as a raw product has dropped but main distributors brought up large stocks thinking it was gonna keep escalating and are now having trouble shifting it for the price they paid

cheers guys, my local forestry dealership sells tp chippers and they all look very impressive but i dont think i can justify the price tag. a little further away is the farmi dealer who let me have a good look round them and have a demo feeding slab wood and like you say a good consistant grade chip was produced. is there anything to look out for when looking at second hand one?

modern 4 strokes are real nice to ride with no real power band just consistant torque right the way through the revs. they dont really like going upside down too much and can be a pig to start when hot. im pit mechanic for a couple of mates who race and in the enduro series most of the bikes are 2 strokes, at the recent tough one 12 hour enduro in south wales a 144cc ktm beat factory bmws and other high profile race bikes

thorpey was a little before my time but he will always be a legend. my friends father was a big follower and has a cr500 collection of various models over the years from red rockets to later water cooled models. motocross aint the same with 4 strokes, kinda like moto gp when they went to the dark side. whenever im spectating or competing i will always support the 2 strokers!!!

old school cool there mate!! those old bikes are leathal, quite quick with poor suspension and little breaks. we got an 86 cr500 that comes out when we are feeling a little nostalgic and brave!

the wr is basically a yz with retuned motor, quieter exhaust, softer suspension and different gearbox (hence WR standing for wide ratio) good bikes, u almost sit in them rather than on them compared to a european bike

does anyone have any info or feedback on farmi pto chippers ideally the ch 260. now i have the mog i want a larger capacity chipper that will produce fuel grade chip and i can run from my mog. i have read about them in forestry journal and had a demo one but would appreciate some un biased opinions from someone who isnt trying to sell me one. also if anyone interested in buying a jensen 528 send us a pm cheers
