  7. you can get one with a rigid plastic strip that stops your arm straightening, ive had both mine hurt really bad having been caught in arm bars and not tapping on seperate occasions (stupid but in the heat of a comp), i know its important to work and being self employed we have to earn BUT i still think if you cant take a couple of week off to help your body recover whats the point of working for yourself i also subscribe to the idea of the stone masons hammer syndrome, that its not the one hit that breaks the stone its the hundred before it!!! if you keep training/working it either lets go big time or alters the rest of your body and not in a good way. But thats just my opinion, i have lots of injuries now and i wish someone had told me to look after myself a bit better years ago, when i thought i was indestructable im learning now though and i try to address any ache or pain i get as soon as i can. take care guys
  8. Great if that works for you Dave, personally i have to rest and let my body repair if i dont it starts to affect other areas as my muscles start to compensate for the pain, this then leads to more problems.

  10. it needs rest mate, its caused through repetive work or hyperextension, get the ice on it then get yourself a strap that keeps your arm slightly bent i ve had it a few times its not nice. pain is there to tell you its time to stop!!! you would not keep running the chipper if there was a grinding noise comeing from it would you? thinking its fine it wont get any worst in fact it will get better tree cutters are mad as a box of bees.

  21. Ask questions, then question the answer if you dont understand it. As said stay off the phone. If you smoke and roll your own ,roll them the night before. If you are getting picked up in the van have the decency to wait outside the house ready to go, there is nothing that starts a day off poor than having to go to someones door to get them to work, especially if they come out with there shoes untied and one arm in there jacket.............. Your job will be to tidy, so tidy it, even if you think its clean and swept sweep it again. Stay safe it can be a good industry but it can be excellent with the right crew. good luck
