  1. you'd probably get the highest prices on fleabay... a rough 200t will fetch £200+ but it cant hurt to put up pics and an asking price on the arbtalk trading forum/classifieds section first

  3. half wraps are 'normal' style handles, stihl factory wrap handles are know as 3/4wrap, husky and some aftermarket stihl wrap handles are full wrap (as they go all the way around)... pedantic maybe... but true:001_tongue: btw. if you ever want to build your dream PNW logging saw, i'll sort you a loop or two of full skip chain, got half a roll tucked away somewhere:thumbup1:
  4. if memory serves... its not too complex to do. the 064 cylinder bolts are M5 and the 066/660 are M6 so the 064 case needs drilling out and tapping for the bigger bolts. other than that, i think there is some minor grinding to do on the bottom of the 066 cylinder to allow fitment. probably more effort than the +5cc is worth, i would just enjoy the lighter weight of a freshly re-built 064:thumbup1:

  6. 064 arrived first, a few years later the 066 arrived, and sold side by side... i think the 064 dissapeared from this end of the world when the 660 appeared the 064 has a physically lighter and very slightly narrower bottom end (weight and width are all in the flywheel construction)... the top end is about 5cc smaller than the 066. parts do not interchange between the 064 and 066, as similar as they are, they are completely different saw chassis.... however, with a bit of modification, an 066 top end can be fitted to an 064 bottom, to create the lightest-weight 90cc stihl around...
  7. ooh, exotic! the ms640 is quite a rarity in the western world... mostly sold in developing countries. sold alongside the ms381 (updated 038) ms760 etc europe and the us had 064 then 066 then the numbering system changed to ms660 etc and the 064 was dropped from those markets. some parts of the world it lived on as the 640. anyways... irrelevant trivia aside... you are more likely to come across 064 parts (which will more than likely all interchange, certainly the p+c are the same)

  9. is that 064 or 460? either way, for genuine mahle p+c go and see local stihl dealers (wont be cheat tho)... for non-genuine parts, ebay, tho bear in mind many non-genuine parts are very poor quality castings, and will need cleaning up and usually modifying to make them up to scratch, and sometimes even to make them useable at all...

  17. advice from personal experience... get them done properly, with quality ink, biro fades badly over time...
  18. looking good mate:thumbup1: how do you find the gains on the new strat engines compared to 'proper' 2strokes? how does a worked 372 compare to a worked 575/6 for example?
  19. soap and water, an air compressor, graphite powder (preferably all three) would be better, dont want to be contaminating your ropes with oil... plus crap will stick quicker to oil and grease than a clean biner. :thumbup1:good post tho, check those biners regularly

  21. ... um, no... i just jumped in there with an opinion, based on pics i saw of one being used a few years ago (on easily wedgeable trees). i stand corrected, handy tool in the right application
  22. Defender Tipper and Ifor Trailer - Arbtalk Classifieds this is toms 110... having seen it in person i can vouch for it being a very tidy, well cared-for machine... if i had a spare 7.5k it would live in my driveway
  23. always thought that looked like a piddle-poor method of getting trees on the ground... felling lever, wedges or a pull rope would all be quicker, safer methods imo
  24. manage your ropes better while climbing:confused1: you might come down with a couple of twists in the middle of your rope after using both ends, but nothing that should cause you any bother... easy enough to throw out any twists when you are coiling/bagging your rope after use
  25. dont do it... not enough saw for what you want to use it for, not ever considered on of stihls best, parts no longer available from stihl and rare second hand.... if you want a 70cc saw, much better to look out for a 038av/super (or magnum if you can find one) or 044, parts are still available for them and reasonable runners can be had for £150... for a milling saw, look out for a 075/076, much better suited to milling, not un-common, and can be had for a reasonable sum
