  1. recently been running mine with a 36 and skip chain, ringing up big bits (4-6'dia) of radiata. performs admirally, keeps up with a 3120 and 42" in the knot free bits. cant comment on regular chain, and you would need a light touch in hardwood.
  2. bodmin end of the county... send me your details in a pm and i'll bear you in mind if i ever need an extra pair of hands. cheers
  3. dickies medway are good safety boots, comfy, hardwearing, waterproof and breathable for not alot of money. pretty comfy when wearing spikes as well...
  4. tell them to stick their trees on ebay as firewood once they are on the deck and you are on your way home, cheque in hand. certainly the pine, maybe tell the pop owner to ring some local firewood merchants. i wouldnt get involved with selling peoples back garden trees for them, they always think they are worth a mint, and are they paying for your time brokering their wood sales?
  5. dont really see how they can address the major issue, its never going to be the best winch with a bollard around it, and its never going to be the best bollard with a winch in the middle.... maybe a winch and bollard side by side like the stein duel is the answer. but this device looks like a jack of all trades, master of none
  6. check it with a tachometer and set the max rpms properly, checking the plug is not a reliable method, and a 660 with modded exhaust is not something you want to teach yourself tuning by ear with... could be a very expensive lesson
  7. best of luck fella, enjoy:thumbup1:
  8. not much info out there on teles Model Profile: Little Tiger thats where i borrowed my trivia from... really i know nothing:001_rolleyes:
  9. fridays good for me fella, i'll be in st tudy for the day anyway. i'll give you a ring tomorrow
  10. re-painted at some point i'd bet... wearing an 80cc JAP engine, and with gear-drive if you like trivia:thumbup1:
  11. not far out of st tudy mate, i'll show you when you head up this way, 5'dbh 70'+ tall...
  12. 'big elm' is good enough for now, i'll have to do some investigating, but it may be a contender for 'biggest' elm in kernow... thank you all:001_smile:
  13. elm confirmation is a good start, makes this the biggest elm i've seen in cornwall by a large margin... thanks:thumbup1:
  14. Dont see too many elms in these here parts (almost exclusively in hedgerows, maxing about 10"dbh 30'tall before DED gets them...) so i'm not too hot on my ident... Anyways, i'm pretty sure this is elm, and with the pretty equal base of the leaves, and geographical location, i'd say Ulmus Angustifolia (cornish elm). However I'm questioning this due to the size of the tree (ma-hoosive) What say you exprerienced elm identifiers?
  15. line clearance? rail clearance?... house clearance? lots of clearance going on all the time... site clearance? where they are building, yes. but theyre not building like they were in the boom.
  16. yep, the engelbert strauss trousers seem like good gear... give it 6 months and i'll tell you how hard-wearing they are
  17. vartago are dealers for the (canadian) logrite range of products... you are after the logrite tools 54" log and timber carrier- Log Carrier 54" issues shifting the sawlogs on the landing jon?
  18. yes, 090 is the daddy
  19. 090- 137cc, 090g-107cc(same top end as an 070).... there was a very limited number of 10ci (163.8cc) 090s released by stihl (holy grail). big saws are good. currently my biggest saw is 88cc.... it makes me sad sometimes:crying:
  20. 30cc less, but a reduction gearbox... torque, or should i say TORQUE!
  21. if you need a 7' bar, and have a good running 084 then go for it, she'll chew through anything eventually. but buy or make an auxillary oiler for it. i did see that 225quid 090, an absolute steal... and sadly ive never seen a 090g for sale in europe, and you'd be hard pressed to find parts for the geardrive if needed...
  22. 084, 088, and 3120 are about as big as you'll get, they'll all run 7'+ bars albeit not very quickly, and you'll want an aux oiler. 090 would run a bar that size better, but are rare and usually quite aged. 090g would be best, but that is super-rare.
  23. a 362xp/365/372xp case will also fit... i dont have a spare i'm afraid, but it might help in your search
  24. i believe earlier 353/346's had a plastic carb boot clamp that was later replaced with a more robust metal clamp. could be an air leak that kicks in when the saw warms up, make sure you dont have any loose bolts (crankcase, cylinder, carb)... (if you must run it) mebbe richen her up and regularly check plug colour until you get to the bottom of the problem. good luck, nice saw, had one for years
  25. class, style, and chicks dig an orange saw:001_tongue:
