  3. nice job, when thats in leaf again it'll look like it grew that way.
  4. thankyou
  5. ditto. cheers jonesie. I will have some of that XTC soon. There's no cordage on the list, do you not sell it? I can only see "prussik rope 9mm per metre" listed.
  6. 2 week shutdown for us as normal...and I for one enjoy every single minute of it...get to do all the little jobs at home I have been putting off, I have some stuff to do to the car I have been meaning to do for a few months at least, spend some quality time with the family, eat drink and be merry...it's a good recharge for the start of a new year. That said I probably will split all the firewood I have collected at home.
  7. whats a conservation area? Like I said before, strategically placed pegs come in handy sometimes. I very rarely leave any, but will do if I feel I need them to help with a nice comfortable positioning. Maybe it's just me but when rigging down a skinny trunk it helps to have a peg to jam a foot in against.

  10. great pics bob, very jealous.
  11. strategically placed pegs show a modicum of forethought. Lets hear it for pegs..!
  12. needs more pegs:001_smile:
  13. well spotted, everyone knows what it's like when they have no strength left...well he kept trying for 25mins after that point before giving up...and we let him know that was a good quality. He was weak as anything when he first cam to us, but he is a lot fitter and stronger now....still a tad portly though..
  14. damn your eagle eyes... congrats, just don't start preaching the good word too much.
  15. only really posted this to bump up the views on it. Just a lad who does a few days a week with us. He's helped us out on and off for 2 yrs now and is never going to leave the floor really but this was a chance to see what it's like for the climber. Put the rope up for him and there was one piece of deadwood about 50ft up to cut off. Sadly he didn't get as high as we planned. A different point of view for him though, and he's a good lad with his heart in the right place. He's had other goes since this and done better. Thats the boss in the background supplying the moral support. [ame]http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Yc8CSb0re1s[/ame]
  16. I did railway work for a few years, good honest hard work, and some of the porthole, embankments were a challenge. Lots of potential for winch work, timber trailers, big chippers, bit of dodgy nighttime climbing etc etc...I enjoyed it, and if you are willing to put the hours in you can earn alot of money.
  17. that time of year again already?
  18. this the picture..?? it's a bit small... where is the original photo.??
  19. are the photo's on your computer yet..?? if so use the "manage attachments" tab when replying to a post or starting a new thread...
  20. not bad matey...conifers are lots of fun aren't they..? why the wispy bits though?..always look better with a flat top, if the customer wants shape to the top I would go higher and chamfer the edge with the hedgetrimmers.
  21. bleedin cold here as well, bumbling up the ladders this morning was an effort.
  22. cool pics for a phone then. My sony cybershot 5mp phone takes some great photo's, but video's don't look so great when uploaded to youtube.
  23. welcome to my world..
  24. great pics...good eye or good camera...??..or both.
