  1. I'm just glad I went before it got completely enshittified.
  2. Send in ole Tone, he'll sniff em out the WMD.
  3. At least he's honest.
  4. Wordle 1,469 4/6 🟨⬜⬜🟩⬜ 🟨🟨⬜🟩⬜ ⬜🟩🟩🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  5. I'd hope to be a little deeper than 2' when it's my time.
  6. Right then, I'm off out to dig a couple of feet out of the bottom of my greenhouses.
  7. I think the "secret" US attacks have probably served to convince Iran, (or more accurately the Ayatollahs), that the only way to protect themselves from Israel is to develop their own nuclear weapons. There's a good chance that they're now beavering away, redoubling their efforts to further enrich their stash of Uranium, that is now secretly stashed somewhere even safer. Talk about unintended consequences. This doesn't bode well: Iranian lawmakers vote to suspend cooperation with UN nuclear watchdog WWW.FRANCE24.COM Iranian lawmakers on Wednesday voted to suspend its collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency... Turns out that Toddler Geopolitics, played out on social media doesn't quite work
  8. I think that's probably right. Plus they gain a little extra height inside. Plus there's less glass required. Plus it probably won't get so hot in the blazing sun.
  9. Ain't that the truth. Desperate for rain here.
  10. Thanks. That may well be the answer I think. Until recently we were still having unusuallly low nighttime temperatures.
  11. I blame the HSE. If it weren't for the mention of prayer, the story would never have made it onto this site.
  12. Yeah, it's weird. I've got indoor and outdoor plants with curly leaves lower down. The only consistency is I think they're all the same type of tomatoes. I've got three different ones this year.
  13. What's going on here then? Heat stress? I don't think it's drought as the leaves are like even when the soil is damp, having been watered the previous day. Not that it seems to be bothering the plants unduly, plenty of tomatoes coming.

  15. It's the turn of the leaf cutters now. Mason Bees finished weeks ago, but I still see a few hanging around. Hyper-locally sourced materials only used in nest construction, lazy buggers! Also, someone has got confused and used a pink "leaf".
  16. Yeah, that's what I figured..The spray just freezers the whole damn lot solid. Let us know if you find a source for it.
  17. The twist/no twist dilemma is an odd one. It seems to depend entirely on the type of tick tool or tweezers that you're using. The instructions on some are adamant that only a pull should be used, others say a twist and a pull. Doesn't make much sense to me as all devices are essentially the same thing; a design to grip the tick as close to the skin as possible. There is however, consensus on not using anything else, substance or heat etc. For fear of aggravating the filthy things. Saying that though. Apparently in Romania the use of a tick freeze spray, (similar to wart remover stuff), is the standard method to get rid of them. It's readily available there.

  19. Devon is getting a lot of mention so far. I know Dartmoor is often quoted as a hotbed for ticks, I didn't know that extended to the rest of the county. Though I do remember one occasion when we were back visiting the folks. Out on a cross country bike ride, in the back of beyond, out behind Crediton somewhere. At one point we rode down hill through some woodland covered in Bracken. Thought nothing of it until we got home and found that me and my dad were festooned with the horrible little bstsrds. 15 - 20 each or something crazy. Weirdly my brother and mum had non. Subsequently learned that Bracken is one of their preferred plants for questing from.

  21. I think it's been subjected to a particularly brutal topping procedure. Apologies for the flippancy. In seriousness though, it's hard to tell the problem based on those photos. Do you have any more, of the surrounding area maybe? What's the history, anything changed recently in the vicinity? Probably not, but it might be something to do with root damage or drought.
  22. Worth mentioning the act of tick extraction maybe whilst we're at it. As well as my bro, two of the children had them on them as well. Those came out cleanly, but his didn't. The head got snapped off he said, which is more likely to cause an infection apparently. Or perhaps theirs weren't even carrying Lymes. Who knows? Only some of them do carry it.
