  1. (Im)migration is certainly a trend here on Arbtalk. Where is that dedicated thread when we need it? Here's a funny thing. So I've just been in another hospital, the second in almost a week. Guess what? They were both absolutely rammed with immigrants of one flavour or another. I struggled to see a white face amongst the staff actually. All the doctors and consultants that I saw were mainly from the Indian Subcontinent I'd guess. Here's the really funny part; I didn't see any brown fighting age males, i.e. the people apparently arriving in the boats. The people supposedly breaking our NHS, having arrived only yesterday. Not amoungst the patients anyway. As you'd expect; you'd have to be pretty fit and healthy to even attempt to cross the channel in a little rubber boat. Plenty of young brown blokes who were registrars and consultants though. Very competent they have seemed, the few I've dealt with, so presumably didn't just arrive yesterday. I saw loads of other immigrant patients, but they were male and female of equal proportion, complete range of ages, (but largely older), and in most cases obese to a greater or lesser extent. It's a funny old world.
  2. That looks great. I must say: I'm quite envious, wish I had more time for projects like that.
  3. I'll sell you one for the right price. A four pack and a bag of Scratchings should do it. Wordle 1,489 3/6 🟨⬜🟩⬜🟨 🟩🟨⬜🟨⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  4. Nah, I reckon it's real, just someone who's very flexible, double jointed. It's a shit state of affairs though isn't it? Where we can never be sure of the authenticity of any images nowadays. Only going to get worse with AI too. Puerile humour is like the Peter Pan of comedy: it never gets old.
  5. But still, irrespective of the sentiment conveyed; that's got to be the funniest hand puppetry I've ever seen. I was trying to recreate it to impress my friends but failed. The puppeteer must be double jointed.
  6. Equally if not more useful for reducing Silky bites I'd think. What are the sleeves made of? Full-on kevlar padding like trousers, or something lighter?
  7. Ha. I thought it might have been that.
  8. I refer to my initial answer then I'm afraid. Why do you ask anyway, planning something new?
  9. I reckon they're just paranoid so being ultra cautious in case anything of real significance ever comes out about either Laurel or Hardy. I don't think either of them are actually wrong 'uns. Just a bit behind the times maybe. Shame as they worked well together.
  10. Wordle 1,487 X/6 ⬜⬜⬜🟨🟨 🟨⬜🟩🟨⬜ ⬜🟩🟩🟩⬜ ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩
  11. Surface of constant width - Wikipedia EN.M.WIKIPEDIA.ORG
  12. You'd also need to have a header in bold typeface explaining in simple terms the difference between Legal and Illegal Immigration. It's a differential that's frequently missed.
  13. Dunno, but I've got a couple. They're weird. Volumes of constant diameter or something?
  14. Talking of getting swamped. I'm amazed that we don't yet have a dedicated thread for immigration. It'd be well worth it I think; theres a few other general threads on here that are swamped by the volume of posts decrying immigration.
  15. Good work. That's nice. Stupid, wasteful bollix - completely agree. Like many aspects of modern life. My dad made this for me. From the offcuts of a friend's new kitchen worktop. Oak. They were going to waste otherwise. He later made another, of similar design for my brother. Again from worktop offcuts, Rubber Wood that time.
  16. Uh oh. It never ends well when "truth seekers" get brought into the rant as well, cited as some kind evidence or proof. I bet he also "does his own research".
  17. It looks like they're multiple trees to me. Unless the ground level has been raised a fair bit under that artificial grass.
  18. Wordle 1,486 2/6 ⬜🟨🟩🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 That was a painful one for a Monday, completely stumped for 15 minutes.
  19. Like a Surf and Turf meal?
  20. Well, Scientists and Doctors would be a good start.
  21. I completely agree that the young are now subjected to far too many adverse influences. Social Media, Ultra Processed Food and pollution being some of the worst. Also, that we're now sadly seeing plenty of consequences of those. I grew up in the 70/80s and life was a hell of a lot simpler then. I have grave concerns about all the shit that my son is going to have to navigate through as he grows up. Not to mention the fcked planet he's inheriting. However, I don't agree with lumping ADHD/Autism together with BS like kids identifying as cats. They don't all belong under the same umbrella. The former should not, except in extreme, cases be considered a problem IMO. The later definitely is, obviously. Unless you think vaccines like MMR and Covid are responsible for the Cat Children as well.
