  2. WTF? It was a comment in accordance with this you Muppet. Nothing to do with you. Again. It's just that you jumped in front in your haste to pose that cracker of a question. Again. Go and look up the Me Too movement, #MeToo or something. Harvey Weinstein and all that. Anyway, as I keep telling you, the answer that you're eternally searching for is 42.
  3. The "me too" effect.
  4. Ah you mean like the whole trope of calling anyone with an opposing viewpoint right wing/racist/etc etc continues?. No, not at all. The racist label only gets applied according to the number and contents of the LinxedIn screenshots. Nothing to do with whether the poster was a member of the debating or mass-debating club in 6th form. Maybe if they upped their game and actually engaged and communicated with the general public without it feeling like a primary school assembly, that phrase may fall out of use. Yes, completely agree. They need to up their game the hell up.
  5. Same again this evening
  6. Get away with you. Lumps that big only belong on a plate, not in a sandwich. Branstons spreadable or nothing. Or homemade. Points for the Corned Beef though.
  7. You're aware it's phrase used to describe a certain sort of labour aficionado type ?. - No, I wasn't aware. Where do you get all this stuff? It probably needs updating anyway as it sounds rather tired and antiquated now. Let's put it another way, explain how they all talk, argue, describe and speak in that weirdo almost robotic fashion with zero ability to resonate or even interact with anyone of an opposing viewpoint?. - No, I can't explain it. I don't tend to listen to them talk, it's mainly guff. It's probably just part of the malaise of most modern day career politicians.
  8. True enough. We're getting herded into ever more different genres. Like music, or bikes, or coffee. But, were you interested in political debate at age 16?
  9. You must have gone to an odd 6th form institution Gareth. The only debating that goes on in regular 6th forms is of the mass-debating type. How many normal people are interested in political debate at age 16?
  10. That's unusual these days I think, not many people have landline telephones now. Well, based on my limited data set; I know hardly anyone who uses one. Those few that do are in the older generations. We're in the odd position of having to pay for a phone line that we don't use. Virgin don't allow the option of not having one. Now that they're not exchange powered, there's no advantage over a mobile. (Not that I think that's progress, it's probably not. Same as getting rid of FM radio transmition. I'm also of the Luddite mindset)
  11. Maybe we've reached one of those tipping points already. Who knows? We're well into uncharted territory now, science will be forever playing catch-up from now on. I think there's only one thing that's certain, and that's that things will get worse before they get better. What do you reckon @Johnsond?

  13. They're well and truly toasted I'm afraid! Always trust a Tree Surgeon. Most of the time.
  14. What is the burning question, the very very simple one? Gotta say, I'm flummoxed. You know, that question that's so amusing that you can't help but whine on and on about it on every single page, every time you come on here. It must be a cracker. Maybe we can all help to get you to the answer together, hive mind and all that. Alternatively, we could just discuss some stuff that actually matters, or is at least interesting.
  15. What's this burning question that you've got your Y-Fronts all in a twist about now? Is it still that military service conjecture thing? It's hard for one to keep track. Anyway, the answer to everything is 42. Everyone knows that.
  16. Interesting discussion topic this one. There's pros and cons to both I think, growing plants or animals. Growing vegetables is certainly easier to get into, from a space, time and money consideration. You can grow herbs or even some salad veg on a windowsill in a flat with no garden. Until they invent those square, stackable cows you've got no chance of doing similar with animals. If I had more land, and more time I'd love to go down the full on self-sufficiency route. We've quite a big garden, by urban standards, but nowhere near big enough for livestock. Even chickens. Unless I wanted to sacrifice the veg, if I were to let them have free range, which I don't. No good them eating all the slugs, if there's no lettuce left either. Also, it feels as though you've got far more invested with animals, I don't just mean money. If a crop fails you just sow more seeds. There's no real infrastructure required, other than a green house, and that's only really a luxury, not a requirement for growing. Chillies and Garlic are well worth hacking, they're cash crops. I'm not sure about Asparagus - not enough return for my liking. I'd add Courgettes and Beans to your whitelist too. Easy, heavy cropping and easily IDed, both of them. Gooseberries are good, they're a doddle, not at all fussy. Where's young @peds when you need him? I'm sure he'd have a two penneth to add. (Looking forward to your thoughts on this one when you rejoin us mate).
  17. Eat them now; before the slugs do, or the cat pisses on them.

  19. Just coming into strawberry season here as well.
  20. They'll run out even quicker next time.
  21. There's some very odd people around. It must have taken more effort to fly tip that rather than persevere with splitting it.
