  1. It was a Beaver's Moon last night.
  2. You give in too easily. I thought this whole thread was about making something out of nothing. They even do a fancy gourmet version now, I found out.
  3. Really? I had you down as a straight from the can kind of man.
  4. Spam fried rice. Comes up nice. I'm not sure what else to do with the questionable stuff to be honest.
  5. No mention of terrorist motives in the Southport enquiry either yet. Are you hoping that'll come out in due course? Until then, there's some concerning figures just come out from the Prevent programme. #Readthenumbers Of the 8,769 referrals where the type of concern is specified, 21%, or 1,798 cases, were due to “extreme rightwing concerns”; 10%, or 870, were referrals connected to Islamist ideology; and 56%, or 4,917, were for individuals judged to have no identified ideology. Five per cent (469) of referrals were due to concerns regarding “fascination with extreme violence or mass casualty attacks (where no other ideology)”. This category recorded a large increase in referrals in the latest quarter, January to March 2025, rising by 240% compared with the previous quarter. The latest data showed that children aged 11-15 represented the largest proportion of referrals where the individual's age was known, at 36%. This was followed by children aged 16-17, at 13%. There were also 345 referrals for children younger than 10, representing 4% of the total cases. It seems to me that we're raising a generation of very ****************ed up children at the moment. Why is that, what do you think is going wrong in our society Davey? Where has this sick fascination with violence come from? Major issues like this are what the public discourse should be centred on. Not all the other guff.
  6. Or indeed an axe.

    Jokes???

  9. Wrong thread dude. Anything that comes out of that woman's mouth belongs in the Jokes??? thread. Surely nobody takes her seriously anymore.
  10. Let me know when you work out how to reliably break them.
  11. Exactly that. Probably a subconscious memory I had. She was one funny woman.
  12. I had the usual frustrating self service till episode earlier. This one was particularly fcking hair tearing. There must have been one person who felt it even more than me. That was the poor woman who had to keep coming over to flash her magic fob at it, getting on for 10 times. The people they employ to do that job must go through a hardcore selection process, to weed out all but those with the most superhuman of patience. Imagine doing that for 8 hours a day, without screaming at someone? Soul destroying. I'm sure they'd rather be manually scanning stuff through on proper tills. At least they get to judge all the punters on what they've bought.

  14. Obviously, the free just refers to the service users. He's proposing to take some money back from the filth. That'll go a good way to funding the buses. I expect Trump will make it too difficult, but just think how much more pleasant the city will be if he succeeds.

    Jokes???

  16. What's wrong with a free bus service? Anyway, as already said, it was probably as much of an anti Trump protest vote as it was a vote for the blue team. (Much like Labour getting in here last time).

    Shouldn't that be SBS? 🤷‍♂️
  18. Didn't think you'd see it. The clue is in the bloke's name.

    Jokes???

    Old school.
  20. The irony. Do you see it @Johnsond? So, we've waited and we've seed Davey.
  21. You didn't expect him to be happy with this news did you? Although from what I'm hearing now, the fact that the Republican candidate didn't win was largely due to the Trump Taint. 'Mandate for change': Zohran Mamdani wins New York City mayoral election WWW.BBC.CO.UK It is a historic moment as Mamdani also becomes the first South Asian and first Muslim to lead the city. On top of the demographic complications this new guy has some very anti-trumpian policies indeed. POLICIES He has proposed: A free bus service citywide Rent freezes and stricter accountability for negligent landlords A chain of city-owned grocery stores focused on affordability Universal childcare for children aged six weeks to five years Tripling the production of rent-stabilised, union-built housing A flat 2% tax for New Yorkers who make more than $1 million a year
  22. Students cheating is the least of our worries when it comes to children and AI. Teenage boys using ‘personalised’ AI for therapy and romance, survey finds | Artificial intelligence (AI) | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Male Allies UK worries rise in chatbot ‘girlfriends’ will leave boys unable to socialise and respect boundaries "The research, based on a survey of boys in secondary education across 37 schools in England, Scotland and Wales, also found that more than half (53%) of teenage boys said they found the online world more rewarding than the real world."
  23. Interesting. I want to ask for a more in-depth explanation of the ANDing masquerading as adding thing. Guessing it's not something that fits neatly in a nutshell though. I was fascinated by Logic Gates when I was taught them all to briefly. Pattern recognition. A friend of mine was developing software to be used in a chicken nugget factory, or some such, around the turn of the century. It's purpose was to recognise and reject wrong or damaged ones by looking at their shape. AI wasn't even on the horizon then, it was just pattern recognition. He now works at GCHQ, something to do with policy, (that's all he's allowed to say).
  24. I genuinely struggled with this one. Wordle 1,599 6/6 ⬛🟨⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛🟨🟨⬛ 🟨🟨⬛🟨⬛ ⬛🟩⬛🟩⬛ ⬛🟩⬛🟩🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
