  1. The creep is toast now, as he really deserves to be. Hopefully. I've just heard quite a long interview with the 16 year old lass that he abused. It was pretty damning stuff. Blatant abuse of power and influence at the very least, but who knows what else is going to come out.
  2. There's oodles of them around still, 500000 according to that archive, so everyone should more or less have their own local one! Much higher concentration in urban areas though. That one I saw yesterday was in the middle of nowhere, but beside a canal, on a bridge. Presumably there are more beside infrastructure like that and major roads.
  3. Bingo! Though the number isn't the height above sea level, as I assumed it was. It's just a reference number, you can find the height from the Benchmark archive. OS-Net | Ordnance Survey WWW.ORDNANCESURVEY.CO.UK Ordnance Survey produces digital and paper maps and OS MasterMap for business, leisure, government and... OS Benchmark Archive INTERACTIVEMAPS.UK
  4. Since we're on a bit of a cartography trip, here's something related. Who knows what this is? I didn't until someone told me about it fairly recently, quite interesting. I saw this one today.
  5. Great, looking forward to your review in about a months time then!
  6. They look like they might be alright. My current pair are Hoggs, standard leather riggers. Nice, comfy boots. Just not waterproof, as they claim to be.
  7. American Bully XL - the name says it all really. People aren't buying them for companionship or to run around with the kids on the lawn are they?
  8. Maybe try to aquire a load of free pallets prior to starting the re-jigging work. Good source of free timber for building shelves, log stores/racks/boxes and anything else besides.
  9. Nice. Thank you. That's the kind of thing I'm looking for.
  10. Are they made of leather from the skin of puppies or unborn babies or something?! I take your point about lack of ankle support though. I noticed that they're banned on building sites now, maybe that's why. I should have said; I don't wear them for working anymore really, more just for kicking around, walking, camping or whatever. Not having to bother with laces, slip on/off, is a big plus point.
  11. Ah, the old waterproof jacket dilemma - you either get wet from outside or wet from inside! I hoped that might not be the case with rigger boots. My chainsaw boots seem to be ideal in that respect, completely waterproof even wearing all day on wet ground, but not very hot and sweaty inside. Not an expensive make, Elten I think.

Maybe they can't be bothered to try to solve the Travelling Salesman Problem.
  13. You're right, that does work, cheers. I've spent ages putting on leather cream, Dubbin, Mink Oil! in the past. It does stop the water, but only for a limited time in my experience. I'm too lazy to put it on frequently now so looking for a pair of boots with a waterproof lining/membrane.
  14. Looks like it'll be a nice day here, dry and sunny, up to 18 degrees. It's definitely feeling very autumnal though.
  15. Yeah, kinda. But I was hoping for something a bit more breathable.
  16. Recommendations please anyone? Ta I've had several pairs over the years but non have ever been truly waterproof, more like shower proof; water always seems to soak in, leading to damp to wet feet after a few hours in the rain.
  17. It's been cooler here today in the Midlands, but it felt even more humid and sweaty somehow. We had a couple of very light showers this morning, but nothing like the rain and storms forecast. We could do with it to be honest.
  18. Maybe he had a Booty Call from Chiswick. Can't really blame him if he'd just come out of prison.
  19. Where are those centre points taken as? Is/was there some kind of standard, like the post office, or church or something?
  20. Hang on, hang on. Is this some kind of trans-universe version of Arbtalk; where Men are Trolls, and Trolls are Men? Confusing. It's time for The Great Reset.
