  1. Several hundreds of years. What is it?
  2. Wordle 1,424 4/6 🟩⬜⬜⬜⬜ 🟩⬜⬜⬜🟩 🟩⬜⬜⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  3. Yeah, I value some things above money, (providing I have enough to live on). Quite a few things actually. I've nothing against undeserved wealth being realistically revalued. A lot of stuff is far too cheap nowadays, artificially so. Someone somewhere, and in most cases the planet, is paying the real price. That is unjust. Although, why should we, (the commoners, and the truly poor struggling to put decent food on the table), get poorer to allow the ultra rich few to get even more obscenely rich? That is also unjust. I can't see Trump doing anything else except expediting that process. Indeed, the momentum of cultural power is steadily going "Right". I for one consider that to be cause for concern rather than celebration. History tells us that the shift won't stop at a convenient point that is mutually beneficial for society and culture. The parallels with previous world events have already been drawn plenty of times on here. Again, Trump is doing nothing but expediting that shift. By propagating and cultivating complete falsehoods and "alternative" facts, whilst suppressing as much expression of counter opinion as possible. All in the name of Free Speech - the irony.
  4. No. It's got to be said though; at least your surreal obfuscation and distraction is normally amusing. (Those talents are wasted on an arb forum, go into script writing or something.) Much better than the abuse and insult that's thrown out as the only other response in the face of the adversity of trying to defend the untenable position.
  5. To be fair it's not really about sides, there's so much more at stake with this Potus. However, if it has to be framed within the very narrow, and restrictive viewpoint of sides; then there are no winners amongst the common people, only losers. There's countless MAGA voters who are now worse off than they were 12 months ago. The only winners in any of this are the small number of rich elite, the tech oligarchs and social media barons etc. The very people that the MAGA ideal is meant to target. That's a failure, not a win.
  6. Wordle 1,423 5/6 ⬜⬜⬜🟨⬜ ⬜🟩⬜⬜🟨 ⬜🟩⬜🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  7. Trimethylamine seemingly. Just a moment... SUSSEXWILDLIFETRUST.ORG.UK
  8. It's nice to work, as well as aesthetically. It's naturally oily/waxy somehow. Prone to cracking though, as mentioned above.
  9. Do you not get even a faint whiff of something unpleasant from Hawthorne blossom, a bit fishy maybe? Perhaps it's just another of those subjective smells, there's quite a few. Though I'm not alone; a group of us out recently, and only my sister in-law didn't agree to some extent. I think the off smell might be more prominent in strong sunlight. It's be great, but I think we'll pay the price for this very shockingly fine and dry weather sooner or later. It's going to come keen if we don't get a considerable amount of rain pretty soon.
  10. ATL again. What is their number now, 30, 40? Bit weird that they grow ever more numerous , they'll be legion soon. Are they affiliated to the AWL? I believe your presence was requested over on the Wordle thread recently. This one is pretty much at saturation point now Davey.
  11. Laburnum. Beautiful wood, but beware the dust.
  12. Wordle 1,422 4/6 ⬜⬜🟨⬜🟨 🟩⬜🟨⬜🟨 🟩🟨⬜🟨⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  13. Wordle 1,421 5/6 🟨⬜⬜⬜⬜ 🟨🟨🟨🟨⬜ 🟨🟨🟨🟨⬜ ⬜🟨🟨🟨🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  14. Is it just me or is it a good year for Hawthorne? Driving across Somerset on the M5 this evening it was just a sea of white, and a little pink, blossom. Stunning. (Shame about the smell though)
  15. That's a Laburnum I'm sure. Lovely.
  16. Wordle 1,420 5/6 ⬜⬜⬜🟨⬜ ⬜🟨🟩⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Filthy stuff
  17. The judge coined a catchy strapline to the story for sure;- "A moronic mission of mindless vandalism".
  18. There's only one way to resolve this: we need a field under the member profile for average Wordle score. In the name of transparency I hereby call for that to be filled out henceforth by all members of the AWL!
  19. Quite. That momentum you speak of is a double edged sword. From a positive aspect it means that the organisation is much less susceptible to the dangers of Populism. The Pope and the Potus couldn't be much more different in that respect.
  20. We seem to live our lives vicariously through our phones these days. I was at a VE Day event the other day and there was a Spitfire and Hurricane fly by. I looked around and almost everyone in the big crowd had their phones pointed at the sky. I got mine out to do the same but quickly realised that what I could see on the little screen was crap compared to looking directly at the sky with my eyes, and what was the point in recording it for posterity? It'll just be an underwhelming video of a little aeroplane for ever afterwards.
  21. Who is Robert Prevost, the new Pope Leo XIV and first American pope? WWW.BBC.CO.UK Pope Leo XIV has supported his predecessor and focus will turn on whether he continues Church reforms. He sounds promising at least. I was concerned that he might be a Tango disciple but it seems not.
  22. Oak. It probably smells a bit like vinegar?
