  1. Cleared some Birch in Jan, The larger stems were used for light fencing, smaller for bean poles and general plant support structures. Still got the left overs so i thought id have a go at making some Besom brooms, this is my first.

The justice in this country sucks, as far as i can see if you had tiped up and got out with a bat or bar n leathed them all for trying to nick your stuff you would have been the one in trouble Sorry this kind of thing really ***** me off.

  10. First I think is a Birch Polypore (Piptoporus betulinus) Second not sure but this slimy thing was about to have a good much. On Salix (Willow) Third and forth on Carpinus (Hornbeam). Bracket just visible at top of third pic, the tree was infested with a multitude of different fungi and dually succumbed in high winds three years ago. Forth pic. The tree lives on in a more horizontal form, and the bracket seems to have adjusted to its new orientation. Not sure what it is tho.
  11. Been working for the estate 10 years next month, with 3yrs off for uni but worked during my hols, started when i was 19 almost 30 now. Looking for parole when my body cant hack it any more.

    Tims a top guy helped me lots last year. Mick Burns is a great carver, think he may have been at tatton last year Mick Burns - Chainsaw Sculpture and Chainsaw Carving Specialist Should still organize a carving session n get tips of each other.
