  1. it's been t shirt weather here , i reckon i have done my last full weekend logging till next season , bring it on baby
  2. A chap in these part's got a splinter from some bog mat's(greenheart) he was moving , nearly lost his hand it had blown up to the size of a football and went all pussy and mank

  4. leaf blower is a must burning sappy old bird cherry today it was a god send
  5. the brash is not piled onto the stools, but to get best results stack it around like a teppee affect allowing the new shoots to be drawn upwards and protected for longer

  7. a bigger picture if poss , i always leave about 8 inches above ground on that size and seems to be ok any thing above that even higher, you can see the high ash in the pic's the white one's
  8. i would think that oil will drip from the bar area of the saw when left sitting on a shelf after use is it alot ?

    as promised cleared around holly stem today and some cracking dates 1= W D 1873 2= 1885 3= T B 1811 / AND JUST BELOW T B 1812 4= AS 3 BUT ABOUT A FOOT ABOVE T B 1860 AS YOU CAN SEE THE OLDER DATES ARE WRITTEN IN OLD ENGLISH STYLE THERE ARE MORE DATES ON THE TREE BUT ARE HARD TO SHOW IN A PIC

    the last date is 1882 there are some other older dates on it we will be clearing around it on monday will see if i can get a pic of a olden the stems range from 20 inches to 26 there are some more hollies in the wood but under the coppice they are hard to get at , the little branch cut at the front is 58 years old

    We came accross this old girl while coppicing last week must be 250/300 years old and then pre-coppice who knows
  13. I have had that proplem water had run down from the back of the radio area into the relay/fuse box and and shorted it out , had to remove cover and then the circuit board to clean ,sorted , the water had come in through a faulty seal on the front vents
  14. no you don't want to damage that it look's like your keeping it busy !

The trouble today is metal is not metal any more i think manafacturers should give you the metal grade they use in there machines or at least supply the information when asked , but to be hornest them A frame legs do look a we bit naff to the crane you have fitted ,are they tested by real people before sold or CE marked ?
  17. one on flea bay at the mo 6months old all the whistl's and flutes £ 14,000 it's rico made jobby with timber crane maybe a bit small for your requirments
  18. 2 options once you have them out sharpen them and get them back in as i did 2 times or get a new roller and some new saturn blades on them re-fit i attemted option 3 remove blades they wern't coming of and the rollers were worn so i replaced i found it easier

  21. birch realy only want's to be in the yard for a year no more , my timber all comes in 3 metre lenghts any thing 8 inch and under i leave to split on the jappa when required anything over i cut and split into bags or it will rot .
  22. stop at 11 and then at 2 can't be having stops all day both breaks 25/30 mins
  23. A great little truck chap helping on a clearfell had one with mud terains on the back went anywhere even with a load .
