  1. I thought that - particularly second time around. Sounds like someone doesn't like you (or you have a poor mechanic)...
  2. This sounds right to me - it is quite possibly an electrical fault. Check also that any fuse carriers aren't corroded, and look at wiring to the key.
  3. That's too expensive - I'll give £20/cube but only if you can supply 1000 cube...
  4. Ha ha! I'm pleased with mine, not had any issues yet and it has had a bit of abuse (it's been on its side twice...)
  5. It might be worth having a chat with Mark at Ryetec - he supplies KTS cranes and has roof mounted themas far as I know. Cheaper and stronger than Botex!
  6. Any more pics of the stirling engined fan? And price?
  7. Remember - if you get every job you quote for then you are possibly too cheap...
  8. A mate of mine fits dust suppression vapour sprinklers - he kitted out a plant near Nottingham that turns turkey and chicken waste products (feathers, heads, feet, giblets etc) into resalable products. The feathers all get mashed up and compressed, and this is sold as the protein additive used in some animal feeds (the dog food bag will probably advertise its protein content somewhere). Apparently the place was absolutely hanging...
  9. I've got a 1996 300tdi Hicap with 130k miles on it, no MOT or tax, is rough but solid. Sound bulkhead and body, good chassis (may need a patch on an outrigger for MOT). Engine is down on power - I suspect fuel pump and/or injectors could do with looking at. It fires up instantly and doesn't use oil or water though. It needs to go and will probably end up on ebay when I get a minute - make me an offer if interested.
  10. Ours do that - they are rubbish IMO. There is a thread on here somewhere with a fix but I'm not sure where. Try searching HT131
  11. Those figures are nowhere near correct for disc bladed machines in my experience. If Saturn's discs are £25 each (for argument's sake) then you are using/renewing 6 blades per machine per month?!? What are you chipping? Houses?
  12. Great chipper! Why didn't you go for the straight fell?
  13. Are there any British industrial engine manufacturers? I think JCB make their own engines now (I'm not sure where though) and Perkins used to manufacture in the UK (even though they are now an American company). Do any of the foreign manufacturers build their engines in Britain (in the same way that Nissan and Honda build cars over here)? It is a shame that it is so difficult to buy British manufactured products nowadays, and there is such confusion as to what actually is 'Made in Britain'.
  14. Belts are a wear part, but I'd have thought that something is not right with a new machine if it eats belts within 12 months personally. There would need to be a serious operator error/malicious damage, serious lack of maintenance, or a design/manufacturing defect IMO.
  15. Have a look at KTS too - I bought an 11 tonne with 6.7m crane and I'm well pleased with it.
  16. Arrrggghhhhh!!!!!!! That is sh1t news - it always seems to go that way somehow.
  17. Any pics of the rotor? How much?!!!
  18. Wowsers - you had a real bargain there!
  19. If you could buy that for 4k you would be onto a real winner - I think you need top add a 1 at the front of that price. I think it is road legal with 1 braked axle too.
  20. What price has he told you? It is an auction, so bid what you think it is worth - if it is a scam you have nothing to lose as you will be conducting the sale through ebay and will receive the protection that carries. I wouldn't personally try and buy anything I hadn't seen in the flesh, and would not hand over any cash without the item in my possession.
  21. If you are mechanically minded then it isn't a big job, but I wouldn't continue to use it until fixed as you may damage the roller, bearing housing/yoke and motor (possibly all 3). Is it definitely the bearing and not the yoke pivot?
  22. Do you drive wit your hand on the gearlever, or have anything hanging off it? Apparently this can put strain on the box.
  23. Insa turbos aren't too bad for re moulds, but they don't like high speed running. If you venture above the legal limit for long periods they can start to fall apart. I've recently fitted some gt radial mud terrains to a ford ranger as they were nearly as cheap as re moulds - I have to say that they are brilliant and seem to be lasting well too.
