  1. I think I'm somewhere in the middle!!
  2. I wouldn't have said so Tony. Surely this would be more an issue with the individual assessor than the actual process would it not?
  3. I really like that:thumbup1:
  4. Nice mate. Were you climbing?
  5. I'd say get the shorter one with an eye on it. 45m will be a bit long if you're just starting out imo
  6. Cheers mate. Need to get t'other end sorted now!
  7. Looks good Joe. You've got that nailed now I reckon
  8. Shut up Steve. You weren't there.
  9. Brave staying up there as the piece went over. I know it must be a traumatic time considering the level of damage it caused. Just glad you're alright mate, could've been nasty.
  10. I buy online pretty much exclusivley. Mainly because Jonesie offers a great service and my local supplier does not!! Simples...
  11. Thats it mate. Then if you need to undo and make longer, it'll pay out from the right end:thumbup1: It wasn't a knock BTW, just trying to make things easier for you!!
  12. You need to start at the stopper knot end mate. Then when you make the first loop, you pull the second loop through it and so on and you work towards the friction system. It means that if you have to lengthen it, its able to.
  13. Ok mate. I'll sort them out later for you.
  14. It could be that the picture is decieving me but, Imagine you are up a tree and you need to make your lanyard longer. When you come to undo it you'll get to the beginning of where you've daisy chained it up. Unless I'm mistaken, your chain means that you'd have to pass the crab and pulley and everything through the final loop. If you look at the picture I posted, instead of passing the whole lot through the last loop, make a half hitch on the loop instead. Then if you need to make the lanyard longer, you take the half hitch off, pull some of the daisy chain apart and put another half hitch on. It means that you don't have to undo the whole lot. Again, If I've got it wrong, I'll shut up!! haha!! It just looks like there is only one part of rope coming from your daisy chain. Hope this makes sense!! I can put pictures up when I get home if I'm not making it clear!! Tommy
  15. Brilliant Dean! I'd love to see you and Mozza show up at a show in that!! Ha ha!
  16. Stein rope marking kit | F R Jones and Son
  17. Alright mate. If you tie up your lanyard from the end then half hitch it like this You can let it out with having to retie it all if that makes sense:biggrin: Unless I'm looking at your photo wrong it looks like it won't undo too easy
  18. 10mm AP is lovely to splice!
  19. Good rope imo. Have it as my short line. Really nice.
  20. Cool!! Thats a good find!!
  21. I'd have said so, when mine is in the chest harness, the tether being stiff lifts everything up nicely. Im sure Ewan will clarify. Ewan, have you used the tether yet?
  22. I have a Rope wrench with stiff tether and hitch climber, pantin, and homemade chest harness (read, Tape sling and snaplock crab!!). Middle ring of hitchclimber to chest harness and away you go. I'll try to get a pic later if needed.
  23. Lanyard round the back, over opposite shoulder then onto wrench thimble.
