  1. John Shutler is down that way. The Treekit boys are also down there. If you've got the cash, you can get decent climbers from anywhere in the country though. Like I said in the other post, it can be hard to read inflection in text but if it was me, I'd tone it down a bit and be a bit less defensive
  2. I reckon that it comes across different in text than if people were chatting face to face. I have met tonnes of Arbtalkers face to face and never had a problem chatting to everyone and picking up tricks and tips and giving the same out. I know you've said that you don't want to get someone in and you want to do the basics yourself, but I'd say that at this moment in time, these are exactly the sort of trees you should get a guy in to point you in the right direction. Where are you based?
  3. Nah. Not the time I'm thinking of. He drove to Reg
  4. I remember James Hoddy shadowing Reg on a crane job. Absolutely invaluable in terms of experience and honing skills. I know we're all doing this based off photos and none of us have seen the trees but I'm almost certain there is nothing that would trouble a decent climber in for a day. I know for a fact that there are at least 5 or 6 lads who've commented on this thread already who would smash those out for less than £200. Just my opinion though
  5. Ok hun. Good chat. I'll let Matty and Pete know that you're disappointed in us. Peace
  6. Call me a prick for trying to deescalate the situation? Shut up you melt! You can calm down as well!
  7. Behave yourself Or are you going to insult everyone who comments on this thread?!
  8. Just sat and read all of this. How many days have you been on the oaks now?
  9. A mate sent me one from New Zealand. Turns out the cast ones are made in the UK so it just went for a little holiday! The pin doesn't fit through the Roperunner for those who were thinking of doing what I was! Might just be used at canopy anchor now
  10. Hi mate. Drop me a PM if you want it doing mate. Cheers Rich
  11. Does anyone know where I can get hold of one of the Quickies? It appears that everywhere is out of stock? Thanks
  12. I imagine that if I make it to 85 I'll be happy enough to raise a smile, let alone anything else
  13. I've been getting used to having less since I got married
  14. You never used to but when I did it we all got nothing and one of our mates got 50 quid for the week. We thought he'd won the lottery
  15. Why is this offensive to you?
  16. A local quiz for local people Stubby and Eggs make a good couple
  17. Where was Ben? I kept an eye out in Sorbus but couldn't see him on Friday
  18. I was thinking just on their line and you on your own. Definatley not text book but would get you down!
  19. Could you install a prussik with a pinto on it above their system, bang a hand ascender under it as a stopper knot and just cut their rope and lower them down on the pinto?
  20. @Martin du Preez @DanBous Did either of you get sorted out? Give me a shout if it's still needed
  21. Is it heavily climbed on? Where abouts are you? I can do it if you need
  22. Thanks for taking the time mate
