Agree entirely with mick. how much cheaper was the other quote? Could have been 50p, 50p is 50p to an insurance co! Were they working to the same spec? I lost a replanting of an avenue job last year on price, the winning company planted smaller than spec trees! Here, insurance companies only require multiple quotes over 2k. Under 2k they judge if it’s reasonable, normally all ways is as mick says, the tree on the roof is the lowest cost if if you never win ins jobs, stop quoting for them?

My first reaction was Screw that! But then reading a bit, it seems like you've had it pretty cushty for a while, knocking a job out quick, working (example) 5 hours, billing for 8 "because you worked really hard/are worth it" then possibly onto your own job too? Sounds like they want to pay for the hours you actually worked/on their site, fair enough really. Bring your laptop and do some paperwork, get the lads to service the saws, change chipper blades, do kit inspections etc whilst killing time and getting paid on their site, you don't have to be sleeping or twiddling thumbs in the van.

Possibly when you realize the chipper is the bottleneck in your day, when the small chipper is the part that slows your day down the most

I think I’ve some. not sure on UK size, pretty sure they’re Eu 46, and can’t remember what condition they’re in (definitely poor) would mean postage from Sweden though.

No swearings a rule, simple. I know steve, and many of the mods have had a lot on outside of arbtalk the past year or so, maybe standards have slipped, good to see them taking action again to be honest. Theres the “report post” button if any of the off topic posts offend you, mods get a notification rather than need to sift through potentially hundreds of pages of drivel.

That’s one way of looking at it, but from my view, as someone looking or help (in Sweden though), who’s picky about who I work with, you might be interesting to me, but not with the amount of info given. There might be Norwegian guys thinking the same

Europe is easy to just pop over and work in (for now!) This year i'll be having a few guys over for many short stints to alleviate workload. Tried it a few times last year and it worked well. (Sweden) Put a "Work Wanted Europe" ad up on here with a short CV ?

Interesting mick, let us know your thoughts on it, more pics wouldn't go amis either. Is the infeed 24cm square? Ive only used the smaller ones, as Huck says, difficult to explain but great chippers!
