  1. Hi looked this up for you at a flat rate of £100 a day then no. I know you have to pay vat on things you buy and it seems tempting to claim it back but it is something you should aviod at all costs a lot of work and stress if you do not put the vat money away to pay. Hope this helps. Keven VAT registration threshold If you're in business, you must register for VAT if your VAT taxable turnover for the previous 12 months is more than £70,000. This figure is known as the VAT registration threshold. The threshold changes - usually once a year announced in the Budget - so you should regularly check your turnover against the current threshold. You must also register for VAT if either of the following applies: you think your VAT taxable turnover may go over the threshold in the next 30 days alone you take over a VAT-registered business as a going concern
  2. I am saleing a pair of Haix size 13.5 gore-tex which where special order, been worn for a month or two. Cost £230 plus vat. In good nick loads of ware left. PM me with sensible offers. Wattie

  5. Will you come to kent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! seems cheap to me, I pay more then that. Wattie
  6. Spot on. I have employees, freelance climbers sub contractors and they all work for me on that day. So I give them all NEW teeshirts, depending on time of year sweatshirts, fleese or coat. If they dont look the part they dont work for me. I would never allow them to have own company number or company name on shirts etc. this also applies if they are carrying out work with there own truck and chipper. I also expect them to give my cards or phone number out if they are asked to quote or even look at job while on site. BECAUSE if I had not sent them there they would not get asked. So i would ask them for new stuff as it is good for there company because image is everything these days.

  11. Yes a fantactic place, and wonderful work they do can be heart bracking seeing the youngesters. I was lucky enough to be chainman of the south east branch of AA and I arranged a work party for arbor day a few years back, with my company and three or four other companies in the south east. Carried out a heap of work through they woodland walk which saved the trust a lot of money as all H&S Work. Had a great day. Most of us are very lucky to do what we do and have happy heathy children, so come on find a fiver or so. Cheers Wattie.

  13. Hi Give Mel at big chip uk a ring he is a dealer for bandit. always Helpful. Number is; 07949032040 Cheers Wattie
  14. Was in the vermont new England back in 2002 seeing a tree company who used a John deer machine to load his truck up. When we got back my pal Mick Drewhurst found a company here which sold avent machines. Some photos attched, think the one in this thread is not as robust, we had one on hire and found it a bit light and to much plastic. The avent is a better built machine and saves so much time and back strain. We have used mick's to carry up to half ton, roll big larch section out of a woodland and with some diffacult rigging jobs. Think there is a company in suffock who sell them or give mick a call Eastwood Tree Services- number on AA web site. Been on my wish list for a while. Cheers Wattie
  15. Some one lives in that!!!!!!!!!!! nice
  16. Build a frame put the bulk bags on the frame and load them stright in, or do you drive to customers and load the bags at there. Would think the later as you would need a small hiab to unload. Re truck nice for our game I have had three still got two and my oldest one is still working with a tree company in Brighton I think.
  17. There is a dealer called mal scott for big chip uk, look on line for his contact detail. He is very helpful and may be able to help you. Good luck Keven
  18. Think it all depends on how much you want yo spend, you said NEW is this new to you as in late second hand or brand new. I have had a few but simple "Best four by four by far" Land rover but the right one not TD5 or Freelander. Disco 3 every time way; 1; Tows up to three ton easy 2; Fantastic off road with the amazing hill decent 3; Great for your boys sitting up higher, leather seats for all them spills!!!! 4; Great vaule secondhand at the mo good deals around. 5; Looks like a tree surgons wagon not a chelsea tractor, in tonga green looks great. 6; Can fit winch on the front and all bolt on's roof racks etc. 7; Looks big but not when your driving feels safe and solid, great ride. 8; You can get a five seater not just the seven which is cheaper to buy. This is nice but think they only come as V8 2005 Discovery G4 edition cool!!!! I have a couple of pals who have forgotten more then I know about land rovers old and new and they say best car they have ever built. Worth a good look and a test drive Auto trader has some nice cars to look at. If not then look at the Mitsubishi Challenger only up to 2006 but good all round car /four wheel drive with jap reliabity I had one for 8 years and never let me down will do all you are asking may have to put better tyres for the off road bit. Pulled a lorry out of a field more then once with mine. Worth a look and get a low milage one very cheap at the moment Cheers Wattie
  19. I have c1e but still think I can only tow up to 750kg behind my 7.5 ton back to the 8250kg law I think.
  20. Give Mick Drewhurst a call eastwood TreeServices number in book or on AA website if you cant find his number PM me and I will pass it on. What size truck and chipper do you need, as he has a range from LDV with six inch chipper, 7.5 with bigger chipper or unimog and chipper with crane so something for all types of jobs. cheers Wattie
  21. Hi Fella, I have both 180 and 260, 180 good light weight almost throw away saw at around £200, use it for light work dressing up branches for chipper or small felling logging ect, do find it a little under powered and has not the quality of parts as 260 etc wich is a craecking saw. I am loking at the moment I am looking at the ms200 or is 220 now with a back handle, all us tree climbers know how good out ms 200 is power to weight and build quality so even through they are a bit lumpy on the price think they would last years with what you are doing. Any of you guys out there hace one with a back handle as i think they would be a cracking ground saw up to 16inch bar!!!! Cheers Keven
  22. Hi O licence is required by any company who runs any lorry over 5 ton, 7.5 ton is not hgv unless you put a chipper or tow with it. I have two 6.2 ton and one 7.5 - Any one with pre 97 licence can drive 6.2s as long as truck and chipper do not exceed 8.25 ton but only driver with class one hgv can drive cargo and chipper/ trailer- But need to check licence as we have had lads who past driving test after 97 and can not tow anything on any size pick up , small tipper or large tipper but can drive up to 3.5 ton. There would have to take a driver trailer course. Know thats a little away from what you asked but a pig tom get around. Hope that helps Regards Keven
  23. Cost me £230 plus the vat from Barry at stanton would like £180 but open to sanceable offers. Dont look like they have been worn have photos if you want a look. Cheers Keven
  24. Up date on boots had closer look and they are a uk 13 & half if anyone intertested.
