Just use a link box with drop down side ramp. Works for my little holder tractor cannot see why it won't work for a mini excavator. -

On our local news tonight some bar stewards have nicked 2 fully kitted out RNLI quad bikes out of the locked up RNLI boat station which they use on the treacherous coastal sands. How low can low life get.

Cannot see any reason for it not to work. The important bit is the mesh air cleaner which allows the sawdust to burn without putting itself out.

Was quoted 82 + vat which seemed quite reasonable turns out they quoted for 30kg when in fact it should have been 300kg. Revised price is £160 + vat which I still think is quite reasonable but I might have got a few more quotes given the revised amount. Anyway nice christmas present as I have been trying to find a low hour engine for over a year.

No problem at all. Using sawdust/chip burners is common practice in Europe for running bread ovens the only complications start when you try to claim RHI on such tried and tested technology.

Whats wrong with being cautious. How many on here have been broken into and had there kit stolen. My major defence is that I live in the middle of nowhere so why should I give out my location to potential thieves. How many times on this forum has an op posted up a picture only to find the piece of equipment in the backgound discussed. Security in this day and age is not just about physical security.

Not fussy just designed for woodchip of a certain spec which does not include long shards. Big difference between a grain auger going at full chat and an auger turning one revolution every two minutes.

If that is the quality its producing I would send it back and treat yourself to a tried and tested Heizohack chipper. I discounted other biomass chippers due to the high power needed for the same quality of output.

The replies would be much better if we new what spec the boilers are or even just the model numbers so we could look up the specs. Big difference in operation having a boiler which will run with 50% MC to one that needs less than 20% MC. -
If it was mine it would all be rejected as it has far to many long shards which creates problems with most auger feeds. What sort of chipper is it and does it have a G50 screen in the chipper. Looks more like output from a shredder than a chipper.

My stove is similar in design to this one. But instead of the grate is the industrial air filter resting on 6 bricks.

My sawdust burner I made from 2 x 45 gall drums and an industrial air filter with the paper filter burnt away to leave a mesh cylinder laid on its side which I fill with sawdust. Light at the front and it will burn its way through to the back. The mesh acting like a davy lamp. Will burn chip just as good as sawdust.

Make sure your tank is secure. Theft of oil is the biggest problem round here especially if you have a plastic tank as they drill the tank to get at the oil meaning you not only lose the oil but also need a new tank. Used to be all oil now all wood. I wonder why.
