  1. Sorry I did not explain myself better I mean like a giant hoover or giant soil pick, for around services. (nothing to do with tree work)
  2. Has any one heard of a very powerfull attachment for tractor or unimog that would excavate round services or for general excavation, 200hp+,
  3. http://www.youtube.com/swf/l.swf?swf=http%3A//s.ytimg.com/yt/swf/cps-vfl67683.swf&video_id=nTfdWHxrbI8&rel=1&showsearch=1&eurl=&iurl=http%3A//i3.ytimg.com/vi/nTfdWHxrbI8/hqdefault.jpg&sk=1LgBpMnw8Q6NjB9yBfUn3Zo0ds1z0tG8C&use_get_video_info=1&load_modules=1&fs=1&hl=en
  4. Just been watchin "how it works" on national geographic while suffering from man flu. Showed American Utility workers crawling along 2 single power cables fixing them cone things, with normal harness clipped on to cable (not fall arrest) like you would crawl along a lateral limb with no above anchor. Did not look like the most athletic of blokes wondered how he got back on to both cables if he slipped. Got dropped off by helicopter on to 345,000v powerlines. Is this still common and was this technique ever used in UK.
  5. How long do you reckon it would have took to do the carving
  6. Forgot I took these in a park in the centre of Geneva.
  7. I have a few quotes excepted that have not heard back from in maybe 4-6 weeks. With domestic work potentially going quiet ever the christmas period (maybe from Dec 15th onwards), I was wondering if to contact the customers in question and offer them a good discount as I would rather be working for slightly less than not at all over christmas. Concerned that people may ignore till new year and then aspect cheaper price anyway. Any other potential issues with the the proposed idea??
  8. scary stuff, ironic that the intelligent hydraulics for safety were the cause

  9. Is there any post on here describing the infamous mewp accident, if not what happened if ya don't mind me askin

  10. FYI, tomorrows graft consists of 2 thins a reduction and some dead wooding, is 8:30am alreet. You keen for the christman shindig where ever it may be

  11. Took me a while to find this photo on google, here's a photo of the camping barn (a very old photo or mechanics in Hurst Green are exceptional). Hope its the right place??
  12. That photo of you in your duds after a night out did make me think twice about making the suggestion
  13. Just an idea... if we went somewhere a bit rural we could rent out a camping barn or hostel type thing. Could all drive to one place with a few pubs, get wasted in a nice country pub with open fire and then stagger 10 yards to bed. There is no reason why could not get hotels, B&B's in Chester but just thought it would be a bit easier logistically and maybe cheaper. Plenty all over south lakes, north wales, west yorkshire / Lancashire etc.
  14. Evil one but he deserved it after years of similar severe practicals on all his mates........ Steel your mates phone edit the name of his ex-doris' contact number who he is still obsessed with to your own and send him provocative texts. Arange to meet him (you and ten mates) in manchester and book a hotel and tell him you get turned on by a sailors uniform. After winding him up by the power of text for 3 hours and tormenting him, invite him to room... I will strugle to laugh as hard ever again. Do no feel sorry for the man in question, when I was 20, after i had got it on with a new lady and fallen asleep, he kidnapped 2 sheep from a nearbye field and put them in bed with us, there was green turd every where.
  15. Went to pick up my Groundy in my girlfriends Pug 106 at 6:30am (was infront of landy). Hit some ice on a country lane doin about 45ish and skidded out of control for about 30 meters into a laybye & up an embankment, thought I was about to roll but then bounced back down and ended up in a field. Was a bit shaken , got out of car and walked into laybye to make other drivers aware while waited to be pulled out. Bout 5 mins later van came down hit same bit of ice on bend and stupid me was stood in laybye. Had to literally dive out of way of van like some kind A-Team episode. 2 or 3 other cars skidded in same place but not to same result as me and van. Strange thing is I got to work and I had the best adrenaline feeling like I had just completed 2 sky dives and a bungee jump. What your closest shaves that you have kind off enjoyed??
  16. Got some bamboo roots grinded out today for customer (about a 10ft by 6ft area). Raked all the visible bamboo waste out, I presume these will resprout before long. What can be done to stop this. I was thinking of similar techniques to removal of knot weed but their are many saplings between bed of ground out bamboo. Any ideas?
  17. Even though they are insanely busy serviceing £120,000 mogs for Fountains and dealing with huge arb firms. When ever i ring, Andy will spend 5-10 minutes on the phone explaining technical queries and giving invaluable advice.
  18. I think the original poster did not want to name them for some reason, although its obvious and I was quoting him. Was just literally just chatting about the VOS mark up thing.
  19. I know I buy nearly all my parts from Alex, I was saying Mudie bond was an "actual merc dealer" in comparison to Park Agri. As the post was asking alternatives to the 2 up north. dazlog with living in Northumberland why do you want alternative part suppliers to a c price
  20. so you truly believe that thousands of tree workers around the uk are running their vehicles illegally
  21. Why!! parts are not going to be any more expensive on his mog. You could get it ag spec and attempt to register agricultural. But getting 3 point linkage and hydraulic set up on a vario would cost an arm and a leg anyway. If you did not get the vario ag you then have to pay on operators licence, mot tax, white diesel, then get your class one so you tow a large trailer. The price of these every year go a long way to serviceing. That unimog that Giles has bought will virtually had every single part changed on it since 1984. Plus another reason people buy mogs is cause they like them, there fun to have and they make you feel good driving to work,
  22. mudie bond actual merc dealer, parts from there are very competitive surprisingly, bits I got from them were as cheap and cheaper than places up north you might go. Park agri is another unimog part supplier. Obviously mudie bond will only supply new parts. (I think)
  23. pm done
  24. can you get those road towable or would you have to add overrun brakes and change hitch. Looks like those are still for tractors, what are you planning to tow with Matt,
  25. Lakes lumbar supply these http://www.remorques-jms.qc.ca/en/chargeuses.html
