  1. I have another rotator for it (full) it was the grab I was wondering about
  2. Payed £150 for it, have I been had, you will have to forgive me for inferior knowledge of forestry equipment, what wrong with it, will it be ok on my 050
  3. Ed, how much do you estimate this weighs, cheers, Dave
  4. There is a bit of play (up / down) in the 6 spline pto shaft attached to the vehicle. I presume this is due to bearings been worn. Is it risky using the pto with a shaft in this state.
  5. the presenter said TPO which is surprising like you say
  6. If your quick check out bbc1 for butchered tree on a programme about planning is going to come back to results at end of show
  7. How come my local council has been using this form for months,
  8. Im not a urinating expert but I have been in this situation a few times in the past...both options are as good as a decision as each other when desperado, however if the pint glass is empty and im in a severe drunken state where I have no respect for any man around me, I would speed pee in to the glass and ask the drunken man next to me to hold my beer while I nip to gypsys and let him deal with it.
  9. was half watching a programme on britains worse weather last night. Was goin on about bad storm when thousands and thousands of trees went down in 1987, I was only 8 half remember it! Did any of you older contractors clean up in more ways than one. (thought it was 86, cheers skyhuck)
  10. I have an 181 which is still in great condition for age, piston is worn on oil pump and keeps shearing worm gear. A new one is probably not worth it. Is there any other saws that have the same pump or has any one a 2nd hand one from another saw. Or maybe im dreaming.
  11. No pics, Original pollard if you can call it that is about 25ft. I was thinking the best option would be a pollard lower, below the stubs. May be about 15ft.
  12. If you took the stubs of there would just be the trunk / pole left, each stub is only 2 foot long growing directly from the trunk. The customer is going to have a continuous maintainance problem if I just take the whips off each stub and it was obviously look terrible.
  13. Just been to look at a willow that has been hacked in the past and the tree just has about 12 x 6 inch stubs with about 60 willow wips growing out of each stub. All wips are about 12 foot long and growing vertical. The customer wants a reduction and has had the tree reduced badly several times in the past. I don't want to take all the wips off (leaving just the stubs again) and some one see the finished product and think it was my doing. I sugested taking it down because of the state it was in, but they were not interested. Would it be worth pollarding lower therefore the growth just from one location?
  14. There is seriously not a day that goes past without me thinking about moving back to the South Island. Maybe in to deep now with business and kit, but a bulk ebay sell and could be back in 2 weeks!!
  15. No pics till Thursday, there was me trying to slip you up. Should not have doubted you having a solution even in Mrs Jones' pristine garden.
  16. Is your excavator articulated and have grass tyres!!!!
  17. Felled some conifers 10" to 12" in a garden on a 45- 60 degree slope customer wants stumps removing. The guy I usually use for grinding said his Charlton won't handle the gradient. Any ideas to get them sorted without a high cost. I have heard of long reach grinders but presume these would be pricey. Can't winch them out as I cut them really low for grinding!
  18. Im not an expert but if you read the link its not a u5000 is a Mercedes Zetros, I stand corrected if a U5000 is a Zetros but they seem different.
  19. Just stumbled upon this, has anyone seen one before, http://njection.com/blogs/jalopnik/archive/2008/06/24/mercedes-zetros-when-you-need-a-bigger-unimog-mercedes-zetros.aspx
  20. Just had a new engine put in my defender (new to me). New engine had 53,000 on clock out of 300tdi discovery auto 1998. Problem is new engine feels loads more under powered then old one. Could this be something simple like injector pump or turbo, or something much worse!
  21. Has anyone ever heard of drying firewood indoors with heaters etc to speed up process. I presume this is ridiculous idea but thought of doing this with a generator run on vege oil and industrial heaters. If this is not a ridiculous idea how much would it speed up the process?
  22. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qGsKSzW0Yo]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qGsKSzW0Yo[/ame]
  23. Got her from local council dog control officer, caught her before she had to go to Dogs home as had been wandering for a few days as a stray.
  24. I was expecting some one to comment on that. I might as well call my pole pruner " the local pub favour stick" as I only seem to use it when some says "when your passing could you just.....". Mike your obviously a better man than me and would do a pro arb job for your mates.
