  1. Aloe Vera. Cover the entire bite area so the air can't get to it and, itch gone. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  2. Worthwhile checking out Treetools stance. They've temporarily stopped selling them. Treetools stats say that the incidents of cracks they see are more than 2 in 1000 and some aren't being picked up by the climber but rather by Treetools when the gear is brought into the shop. 3. That's a beautiful shot Mario. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  4. Avoid the gluten free; it's full of rubbish and incredibly high in carbs. As someone else said, just substitute stuff for the bread. I used to eat maybe ten or twelve slices a day but now I have four pieces of grain bread on a Sunday as treat. Haven't had white bread in nearly eight months. I don't often miss it, it's just a matter of working around it. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  5. Well, I didn't fall go the wagon as such. I still avoid sugar and wheat like the plague but I do drink milk and have a little rice now and then. Gave up the beer but have a weakness for wine at the moment. Still, down to 78 from 96 kilos and holding steady. Finding it quite easy now to avoid most of the crap. I have a customer of mine suffering from cancer. She's been told by the doctor it's white death and to be avoided as much as possible. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  6. I have an old one. Electrics are typical land rover, sun roofs and window rubber leak like a sieve. Does everything off road better than anything Japanese I've had. Looking at buying another Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  7. No words really. None. My condolences just isn't enough. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  8. If you're crossing the tracks with machinery though you're supposed to contact OnTrack/kiwirail. There should also be an observer etc but the most important part is informing the rail owner so they can let you know it's safe. If there's an issue they can turn the lights red further back up the track. Looks like someone cocked up big time. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  9. I did on track training a few years ago and I'm sure they have things in place that should prevent this happening. Makes me wonder if they followed procedure. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  10. Hmmm they kept that quiet. Heard a digger got hit on the tracks at Raurimu and wondered if it was the scape. Chipper doesn't look too bad though. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  11. Where was that? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  12. The guy that fed his leg into the chipper here in NZ probably wouldn't be here if it wasnt for the other guy on site. The feed rollers had him, no last chance cords, what was he going to be able to do? The full Work Safe incident report hasnt been released so i don't know the full details of who was at fault but from what I have heard from third parties, it was a combination. Operator error (read stupid bloody idiot) along with the company removing design safety features such as the feed tray. We have a local outfit here who hand feed an 18 inch Bandit. Makes me shudder.
  13. Had a guy here in NZ recently shoving stuff in to a 14 or 17 inch Bandit with his foot. Got his leg caught in the feed rollers and got dragged in. His off sider heard his screams and shut the unit down. Guy lost his leg. In feed tables had been removed to make digger feeding easier. Not all the last chance cables were on the machines either. The company had to go back through and retro fit feed tables etc to all its big chippers. Also worked with a guy at Asplundh who jumped up on the feed table of a chuck and duck going flat knacker and tried to kick stuff into the infeed with both feet. There's a way to feed a chipper and a way not too. People reckon the chuck and ducks are dangerous but you can actually pull a limb out of the blades. Try that when a set of feed rollers have got a hold of a limb. Regardless, I feel for the guys family. Let's not take the gear or the job for granted eh. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. We use full hi viz singlets, t shirts and long sleeve although the singlets are getting less and less of a look in with the harsh sun in NZ. The full sleeve shirts are transit compliant so we don't need a hi viz vest when working on the road which cuts down on weight and heat. All the shirts are made from the wick away, quick dry material and are pretty good at not being too stinky. They also look quite smart compared to some of the local contractors and they comply with our arb codes of practice. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. Should also clarify that I don't use it anymore. It was the only thing that helped me get off the nasal spray addiction. Took two weeks of pill popping and sleepless nights to quit. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. Happy to take the risk to get me off the nasal spray I was addicted to for ten years Peter. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. Ben, you guys still get access to the good stuff over there. Came back with a bag full of pseudo ephedrine sudofed last time which is so much better than the imitation stuff we get. Try Neil med nasal rinse. Helps heaps. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. Down to 78kg from 96kg. Was never fully strict and I like a couple of glasses of wine at night. Have one treat day which is Sunday when I can have a bacon sarney, pasta or maybe a couple of bits of toast but otherwise my eating habits are way better than they were. Still don't eat sugar except for the odd time I have mint sauce, mustard or horseradish but otherwise I'm clean. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  19. Sorry, got confused, that was Arcata. Drove through Eureka to Scotia. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. Had a night out in Eureka for a feed Mario. Odd, quaint, neat, slightly scary with all the homeless until you realised they weren't interested in you. Actually quite a pleasant little place. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. Be sure to get off the beaten track. We stopped at a Best Western in Brookings that was on the Beach. Sunsets were cracking. Heaps of little roads worth exploring to whale watching points, beautiful beaches etc. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  22. Sorry mate but this is a beat up by the UK media. Most of the all Blacks are born in NZ or move over here with family at a very young age for better education and job prospects. they are fully fledged kiwis and have been for a long time. NZ is a pacific nation and one of the most multicultural citries in the world is Auckland. Just because they have Samoan, Fijian or Tongan heritage doesn't mean to say they're not born and bred kiwis. As for the not playing in Samoa part; that is all about money, just like most sports these days. Same reason the English dont play games in Romania or Georgia to improve the quality of that countries rugby. Playing in France or against the AB's at twickers generates huge amounts of money and thats what the game is about these days.
  23. I went to a spider jack simply because it was easier. I went from prussic to blakes with a pulley below for exactly the same reason. Just seems to be a progression as I get older. Still struggle with the wrench so stick with the SJ. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  24. Been using one of these for the past three weeks though only a 16m boom. Still a massive wake up call. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  25. 2:1 now Stephen so not quite as good as it was but great if you're buying from overseas. Just brought in a $700 tripod from the US for $500. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
