  1. Same as above. I think a polite enquiry to the person that confirmed the jobs was a go might be in order. Might be a complete misscommunication internally at their end and you might find they find you some more work to make up for it. Sometimes with these big outfits there's too many fingers in the pie and the left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing. A right royal PITA for you but sometimes simply solved with a bit of an apology and a promise of future jobs. You really dont know what happened until you talk to someone.
  2. We've had one as back up to the 200t. Great saw. I think the 150t has its own place so wouldnt count the 192 as far superior;just better at different things. I'm quite happy to use the 192 for most things other than big dismantles.
  3. Camp isnt so much of a worry as I've managed to track down quite a bit of their gear and, although it seems less in the arb industry it all seems good stuff. The worry is this stuff made in China. Apparently it's all tested but I can't find any info on where or to what standard. Some of the guys from treescape have had it in their hands and reckon the metal on the krabs is pitted and feels odd. Just wondered if anyone had and dealing with chinese gear.
  4. We've been approached by one of the local safety outlets in NZ who are selling CAMP and Zero height safety gear ranging from harnesses, lowering bollards, spikes etc. To make it clear WE ARE NOT INTERESTED IN BUYING THIS STUFF but we have been trying to find information on it. CAMP seems to have some back ground in the alpine and climbing industry and are based in Italy but Zero is quite a new outfit with their stuff made in China. Anyone know anything at all about these outfits and could maybe enlighten me?
  5. We're waiting on it to be fixed again. Every time we've had it it has been fresh out of the shop so it should be sparkly clean. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  6. Yep sent it back for the third time today and that's only the demo saw. At least this time we managed to get it started so it had the chance to cut out. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  7. Yeesh that's some pretty effortless looking cutting. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  8. I'd suggest strimmer man should be purchasing a new tree.............and doing the washing up for the foreseeable future.
  9. Took the whanau and my best mate out for a feed last night. I cheated and had garlic bread and beer battered fish and chips. Never again. I was sick as dog all night. Ended up bringing half of it back up. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  10. Happy so far with the two new holes required in my belt and not needing to sit on the dunny several times a day. No idea how much weight I might have lost. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  11. If you're going to based in Waioru talk to Anton at Turangi chainsaws. Does a top deal on second hand and he's just up the Desert Road. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  12. Also just found out that hard cider is ok on Paleo. Sorted. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. Exactly what it says on the tin 😊 and no sugar in the powder. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. 4 or 5 boiled eggs, cucumber, tomatoes, beet root, sometimes onion and some meat of some kind. Usually lamb or pork but lately it's been fresh shrimps. I also have a little bit of fruit and some home made muffins. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. Haven't checked Ben but I can never seem to get it to taste right. I'll check tonight. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. I also noticed that. Unfortunately I love mustard on my beef. Horseradish is the same. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. I haven't found one yet that doesn't have sugar so I go without. I'll have to check out a couple of specialty shops. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. What's your mayo recipe Doobin? Everything in the shops is full of sugar so I'm presuming you make your own. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  19. Not sure if the extra cost of purchase in NZ won't be offset by the cost of import duty and the like when you bring saws into NZ. A lot of forestry students flog their saws off cheap either to Stihl shop or on http://www.trademe.co.nz one they give up on their courses when they release it's harder work than sitting on your backside claiming benefit. Why do you need to bring or buy saws anyway? Are you considering setting up on your own here? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. Steelies, that's it, but if you're working out bush in Sydney, thicker boots are sometimes recommended. A funnel web can punch right through thin leather. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  22. Seconded on Mike's comment. Eventually you become work fit. Your body adapts to the type of work you do. You still might be fit by average standards but maybe not supremely. I do this job six days a week but can't run that far before being knackered. One of the local ironman competitors was explaining it to me. Want to be really fit, make your body do something completely different three days a week and break the routine. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  23. Can someone briefly explain what the program was about and the outcome please? Not that it's going to entice me back in to eating sugar. Just for the record; NZ Doctors are now describing sugar as the new tobacco and want all sugary foods and drinks banned by 2030.
  24. Still very much learning with throw lines but I have a Stein cube, 2 12oz and 1 16oz weight and wouldn't go lighter. Double hand technique, swinging between the legs. I find it easier for accuracy. We don't have access to ladders so throw ball it is which means a fair bit of practice.
  25. Epic road. Lost count of the times I stopped and swore. Drove up and down it several times. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
