  1. Not the best video as i was trying to video at the same time.
  2. Which bushes do you mean? Ignore the writing on the photo. i had to get Halse of honiton engineers to pop out to have a look at it. it turned out that it had been put together wrong, washers on the wrong side which made the lever catch often. All good now though.
  3. You tend to come in from the side and use the steering and tilt to work the stump down. I found it to be just as efficient as a normal grinder except its only 23hp, could do with a little more umpph at times, but it is really smooth and precise as you can see exactly what you are grinding and the debris is thrown out the side.I tend to make thinner cuts to keep the revs up but it is very quick to sweep across the stump. 3kish and utilises my loader. i was looking at a bandit or fsi but they were 10k i couldn't justify it for the few stumps that i do.
  4. Klou grinder on Avant 420
  5. New toy! Anyone know how to make it one hand operated? I think the design has changed a bit.
  6. Yes certainly not letting it go for 350! Cant really compare it to a handy 7t electric! over 2k new now, but that is for the new model.
  7. Down in South Devon. Do you ever come this way?
  8. I want to sell the splitter which is the old style 9hp b&s but in good condition, but i don't have a clue what to ask for it. Any suggestions?
  9. were turf tyres not an option?

    Lewis winch

yep i seized my drum too! i still run 6mm dyneema on it but half as much, its not as long as id like it but still easier to use than the wire rope. Nice bit of kit though. i would like to try one of the small petrol capstan winch though.
  11. the horse loggers have been working near me lately. Nice guys. My little boys love watching them, probably not the most productive but its a job for the woodland trust, lots of money and good publicity!
  12. sounds like we are both guna have to bite the bullet and buy this on the bay!
  13. i did have a mysterious squeal rather than squeak on my old schliesing which i think the forst is largely based on. not sure if its the same but i narrowed it down to the little rubber star shaped thing that meshes between the end of the rollers on the drive side. i sprayed wd40 on and the squeal went away but it did come back but as knew it was just that i didn't have to worry about it.
  14. ive had to replace a couple now on my pole pruners. No amount of flushing and cleaning got it going again, i just order a £4 special off the bay, works fine now.
  15. that is a nice saw but the sheath sucks, unless they have updated it like they have a lot of the others. due to the white knob it will only go in one way round.
  16. I took the arrester screen off my echo 390 and it melted the chain brake. put it back on and it stopped melting it! It didn't make much difference to that saw though. Only other problem i get is the fuel cap keep swelling up and is really hard to move, on my second now and really need a third. my local dealer has never heard of it happening before.
  17. Trust me, you don't want to go anywhere near a ladies nips when she's breast feeding!
  18. Any new dads out there? pinch the wife nipple cream, awesome for dry lips. Dont knock it till you try it!
  19. Stump busters did a few for me a while back, charged me £450. Tracked carlton 7015 i think. An animal! All grindings stayed on site. Probably took him 3/4 day. That came on a fair sized lorry all the way down to East Portlemouth in Devon I think its been said on here before, seams cheaper to get stump busters in than invest in a big machine. IMG_1485.MOV
  20. Iam not saying your not right but i can't find it anywhere on the avant site if their specs are with or without weights which is a bit bad really. Just need to be sure people are comparing like for like.
  21. when i said' it works well', what i should have said was that it says in the blurb that it is compatible with the 420! mind you have you seen the youtube vid of the new avant 225 with the same mower collector on it? they don't show how it empties the grass out though!
  22. Are the avant specs with or without counter weights? The 180kg optional extra counter weight with the 4 series is considerably heavier than the avants recommended 2x29kg counterweights, well recommended to me anyway. I wonder how much my 420 would lift with 180kg on the back?
  23. Thanks a lot for the reply and the photos. Back to the drawing board with my 420 then. the avant collector apparently works well on a 420 just the design is poor apparently. i think its got two blades whereas the tornado has three guess it need more flow? although the cutting widths are the same. but you can take off the collector unit on the avant and side or rear discharge which isn't bad.
  24. Yep i love it, perfect for my work, not too big or heavy to tow about or get into tight spots. But for yard work id be tempted to get something a little bigger really. i think the 528 is there most popular machine.
