  1. I dred the "while your here could you just..." The best reply iv come up with is- no problem, do you wont it on the same invoice or invoicing separately?
  2. Should get a few of them big saws demoing at APF in sep, would be worth a wotch!
  3. Hi matty, i run was talking to a bloke on sunday who told me a 434 like yours with cab would fetch about £1500 to a classic enthusiast and offered about 12-13 for mine that aint as nice as yours. cash it in and get a thor splitter from Lee, had mine for about 3 year and its done a lot of logs and never mised a beat eaven on horrid old sweat chesnut!
  4. Some things are just wrong!!!! still funny!
  5. I hire busy daddy big splitter and spend a few days splitting down big trunks in prep for my japa 700,nice simple procesor. any small arb waste bits that hav bee cut on site and dont land themselvs too either of the big bits of kit i cut with a saw and split on a 10.5 ton thore.
  6. Nice farmer who i rent the yard off lets me use his telescopick loader for nowt. made a clamp thet holds the pallet onto the tines so the logs can be tipped out into the landy or trailer both 1.5 qube or 3.2 for large load. Got to make sure the join in the netting is on the long side so it can be opend like a gate. not sure now much each pallet has on it or quite wot i will be charging by winter, depends on how much fuel go's up by as to wot my costs will be.
  7. Turn head too view proppaly lol
  8. That will be me. working well so far. got about 8 filled so far.
  9. Best bars I have ever run. done quite a lot off cutting with this long bar since i got it and still very little wear on the bar railes compared to outher bars iv used. The best thing is the lack of barr sag when felling so you can keep a nice level cut. the quality far outweighs the cost so give them a go. Ps carving bars are good aswell!!
  10. Nice landy arborworks. I WONT ONE LIKE THAT!! wife says no as my 130 takes up enough room on the driveway. bet its good for keeping the ground presher down so not rutting up clients land.
  11. If you wont to run an oversized bar on a 066 try putting a smaller chain on it eg .325. I run a 50" bar on an 088 with .404 when felling or crosscutting then swop the bar tip and sproket for .325 when milling. I hav a 4 roler type mill from chainsawmills.co.uk and havent founde a mill to better it, payed for itself in 2 jobs. The bar is a cannon from tavistock chainsaws.
  12. Got almost a full wagon load last year and put off selling in on as logs till i had nothing els in the yard thinking that it was no good, tried some in my own stove and it burnt hot and clean so the rest got sold and no complaints from any clients.
  13. Thats one nice big tree. Sticky ropes by the end of the day i bet!!! Polly up a tree for free!?!?
  14. Did mine with the bloke who did my chinsaw cs units, giv local agg col a bell for some phone No's.
  15. Just had a thought you might be lucky and be able to get a grant through YORWOODS of NORTHWOODS depends if you come under thear area, worth a phonecall. google them for phone no and giv then a call mon.
  16. Dont lend the 17 year old tranee £10 to top up his phone on a morning as he will spend all day texting his bird and not working.....
  17. Dont go home from site with clients tea cups in your van as they might wont them back.
  18. Iy done that and got the scars!!!
  19. Allways get the best kit you can afford at the time, dont get things on a wim unles you hav the money going spare and just save like mad so you can build up slowley. I know of a few lads who went out and got everything in 1 go,spent every last penny then had no work on. good luck.
  20. Thought about running the landi on bio derv but got told that a 'on the Qt' tax increase on this will bring it up to the same price as normal derv. Lads down the pub wer trying to work out how many miles running on red you would hav to do to outweigh the fines for doing so.thing is landys get cheked by vosa more than normal cars so made it a little harder to work out not that im endorsing useing red for road use.
  21. From wot I hear on the vine well over 20k. Last i heard he is working the doors in harogate and has sold the business to his step farther. think i was a lucky 1 as i never got a bill for some chipping he did for me but most wer own money as he was quite good at asking for wot people owed him. end rant.
  22. could be, kiped in the back of it at a few shows now.
  23. power line clearance, cutting back trees away from overhead lines. toung in cheek about in being the dark side as some companys dont care or dont have time to carry out best practice tree care or they didnt when i spent time doing it. spiking up a tree that was not getting removed was not uncommon or simpaly removing all the branches off one side leaving a very disfigad tree. Might hav changed now if any1 wonts to put me straight.
  24. Well i did know him till he had a bit of a brakedown about 18 month ago and went off the map leaving quite a few unpayed bills behind. Wot the 4 nd 4 coming up wit like as think we did meet before at some talk or sumit?
  25. I did the NVQ at A&B and did it in only a year it was 9 year ago so might hav changed a bit but still a good all over training course. If you get a good employer, work hard and show willing its in there interest to provide you with more training. If all else failes you could go over to the dark side and do a few years of line clearance and use it as a training/experience time. good luck hope it all works out.
