  1. Back out with the beasty grinder today, this thing just can clear stumps quickly, last stump of the day was a redwood I'd cut down a few months back. From engaging the head to switching it off again on a 28" stump as deep as machine would work too less than 7min!
  2. Gray git

    Funny

Just about rite apart from last 1 that should be arbtalk
  3. Felt like I was playing robot wars today obliterating stumps with this remote control beasty. 6m2 of grinding off the 1st stump and I'm so glad I didn't have to tidy up the 2nd.
  4. Re badged toro machine? Look a good bit of kit.
  5. An email saying if they are in financial difficulties so unable to settle the whole amount I'll happily take part payment and goods for the remaining value or more to secure against the remaining amount till they are in a position to settle normally irritates them anough to pay, only used this twice both times on minted customers. Normally payment within 15 days reminder on day 16, late payment reminder on day 29 stating 10% will be added if not settled within 5 working days as per T&C not had to take it further than this yet. And also offering to return there property (rakings and chip + interest) all over the driveway like ty once
  6. Good video, excellent looking machine! Nothing like having loades of outreach for reduction work. You'll be asking for a hire cost reduction for doing a machine promo video for them. Ow yeh, nice tree work to
  7. Always worth putting the link up James or are you just teasing us, hope you've been good and santa still has a gopro on his list for you ;-)
  8. Always thought the yanks did things differently but not backwards like these are!?
  9. I've seen the quality of chip from two jenz chippers and wasn't impressed by either compared to the hiziohack. The hiziohack do have a few more fines but a lot lot less oversized and slithers. So depends if the client wants quality or quantity. Like firewood tonnage is a hard 1 to work out as species and moisture content will have a lot of variation, better of by m2 of final product if your going into trailers of skips or know what your set up can produce in an hr and sell yourself on a hrly rate with an estimated x m2 per hr. Contract chipping like this is hard on a machine compared to brash site clearance stuff, possibly less blade damage as cleaner timber but definitely harder on everything ells as it's relentless on and off the stress control. Your set up would be ideal for smaller customers who fill the chip hoppers direct from chipper say 40 -60m2 rather than those who have a separate 100+ store separate so smaller but more frequent visits that makes the big machines impractical.
  10. Was just looking at the 3.2s last week and they have lower attachment points again but soft eyes as apposed to hard eyes like my treemotion. Looks a good comfortable harness, tempted when treemotion is out of date in January.
  11. You know the rules Andy, pictures or it don't exist ;-)
  12. Doing cs41 gives you a tick saying you have reached a level of understanding to do basic rigging safely. You don't learn how to rig big stuff. Yes do the course because that covers you for your insurance but you'll learn more on here and by watching and studying video's from the likes of reg Coates, August hunick Lawrence schultz on youtube. Watch the isa arborpod series and try and attend a stein rigging workshop.
  13. Notice that's in my list, so envious you have it,well done. Bet it's rock stedy with 6 jack legs!
  14. If you are taking on jobs that require regular big rigging and you still can't afford a decent lowering rope you ain't charging anough to do the work! I use slings for the majority of my rigging as it's so fast both in the tree and for groundsman as if 1 gets nipped on the ground they can still get the ropes back to the climber to set the next bit while they free it. Recently started using the backbone from sherrils which has made things even simpler and can take massive loades and creates a nicer bend radius on the splice eye on my lines. The only time I tie knots are half hitches below a crab when blocking down, the bigger the timber the more half hitches.
  15. Paul Paul Paul! The start of the thred said money no object..... And you'd hav that poor iittle chipper? At least get a cs100 on there!
  16. Should do as long as same number of wire terminals on the back for heat run start off.
  17. Like old man stepto "dirty old man" but it's ok as I'm only 33....
  18. Drove 1 for a while with a front mount and wasn't as bad as you'd expect, definitely easier than the valtra with roofmount and grabbar at junction - people just seemed to get out of my way for some reason ;-)
  19. To help run the office, honest
  20. I'll let pictures do the talking, hopefully I'd pass the last 1 off as a business expense.
  21. That's the 1, going to start taking out clean winter chip into him to blend with the extremely dry pallet chip as it's almost too dry for the system.
  22. There is a beast living a few miles from me that spends it's life reducing pallets and old kitchens into biomass hog wast to heat giant greenhouses, fast as a loader can lob em in it eats them. Got a load of dead trees to remove close by so was going to take the lot in and watch it devour them.
