  1. You know the rules Andy, pictures or it don't exist ;-)
  2. Doing cs41 gives you a tick saying you have reached a level of understanding to do basic rigging safely. You don't learn how to rig big stuff. Yes do the course because that covers you for your insurance but you'll learn more on here and by watching and studying video's from the likes of reg Coates, August hunick Lawrence schultz on youtube. Watch the isa arborpod series and try and attend a stein rigging workshop.
  3. Notice that's in my list, so envious you have it,well done. Bet it's rock stedy with 6 jack legs!
  4. If you are taking on jobs that require regular big rigging and you still can't afford a decent lowering rope you ain't charging anough to do the work! I use slings for the majority of my rigging as it's so fast both in the tree and for groundsman as if 1 gets nipped on the ground they can still get the ropes back to the climber to set the next bit while they free it. Recently started using the backbone from sherrils which has made things even simpler and can take massive loades and creates a nicer bend radius on the splice eye on my lines. The only time I tie knots are half hitches below a crab when blocking down, the bigger the timber the more half hitches.
  5. Paul Paul Paul! The start of the thred said money no object..... And you'd hav that poor iittle chipper? At least get a cs100 on there!
  6. Should do as long as same number of wire terminals on the back for heat run start off.
  7. Like old man stepto "dirty old man" but it's ok as I'm only 33....
  8. Drove 1 for a while with a front mount and wasn't as bad as you'd expect, definitely easier than the valtra with roofmount and grabbar at junction - people just seemed to get out of my way for some reason ;-)
  9. To help run the office, honest
  10. I'll let pictures do the talking, hopefully I'd pass the last 1 off as a business expense.
  11. That's the 1, going to start taking out clean winter chip into him to blend with the extremely dry pallet chip as it's almost too dry for the system.
  12. There is a beast living a few miles from me that spends it's life reducing pallets and old kitchens into biomass hog wast to heat giant greenhouses, fast as a loader can lob em in it eats them. Got a load of dead trees to remove close by so was going to take the lot in and watch it devour them.
  13. Get the naughty naughty boys into one of these but with a handy wall at the other side, sorry derailing slightly but it was the slingshot and a youtube wandering that led to it The Human Slingshot:
  14. We'd hav been lucky to see as far as the waters edge never mind get a lovely sunset like that with the murky weather here.
  15. Going to have a go with that tomorrow. See how it flys so I'm prepared for the incoming. I know golf balls are quite devastating out of a bigshot when you accidentally hit a passing crow but bet I'd never be able to repete.
  16. No but have 2 pairs on rotation that get put on top of the engine and the warm air from the radiator fan dried them in about half hr and toasty warm but crispy. Alloy rims.... Only seen em on a pink bandit I think.
  17. I'd be happy with the bit till the metallic paint, mat finish is where it's at these days, you forgot the glove drying tray above the engine ;-)
  18. That's nuts! Climbing is 1 thing but the walking around the top just made me feel queasy, couldn't do that the way my knee collapses from time to time, I'd just fall off!
  19. No! What a waste of talent, what's he doing with himself if not bothering trees!?!
  20. Nice 1 ham, lovely steep banking to slide around on, is that big nick up tree in last picture?
  21. Last 1 neatly positioned for the carver I guess ;-)
  22. Similar to why I like the app for arbtalk as I can set it white words on black background, much easier to read.
  23. And some pi if you do reports and hip for extra equip all 2geth not as bad as indvid Don't you just love abbreviations
  24. He is employed by you to do it as laber only so you will be required to cover him. Take the same job and say to me come in as a company and cut them down, chip tidy etc I provide all labour equipment and decided how best/safest way to do it so you have minimal imput so realistically you become my client so don't require any.
  25. Tidy up this little mess from yesterday, Bombed it all out last thing yesterday as was a nice evening and weather report said it'd pee down today so didn't fancy slipping around it today. About 8m2 from it all chipped up, poles felled by lunch and onto next tree
