  1. Hope some hydraulic experts might know. Have an unusual problem on one of the crushers, see video. The ram basically slows and loses power, and the pressure switch fails to tell the ram to change direction. It only happens once the machine has got hot. Have changed the filter, the ceetop valve, pressure relief valve, pressure switch and made sure its full of oil. My next thought was to change all the fluid, and then the pump. Pump has only done 300 hours, but this machine does little work as its kept off the hire fleet for my own jobs. I can send a sample of oil off for analysis if thats any help
  2. I got mine done by the chipper doctor. Its actually not that difficult, i presume a flywheel sensor has gone?
  3. The point about agriculturual contractors is interesting, they are being paid by another landowner to carry out work, they are therefore not allowed to run on red diesel!
  4. I forgot to add, bearings can go, i need to remove the shaft and jaw from the machine, jaw is going into another machine
  5. How does one get away with the above? I was told by vosa, 5 miles limit from your base, agricultural only, and your own land. Anything else requires o licence and white diesel? I looked into this sort of setup for the future, but not if its more trouble than its worth
  6. See below, the small round disc with three cap head bolts on. I have remived these bolts, they are screwed into the end of the shaft. The bearing sits inside a special sleeved housing, that can onle be remived when moved to the far right as it is designed to slot between the top and bottom . I can just get a hydraulic puller on it, but it slips off due to the angle. I need new bearing blocks so i can sacrifice those.
  7. Cant be done without destroyimg the machined shaft, which alone is over £200 to replaced and would be a special order item taking weeks to manufacture
  8. I am trying to remkve a couple of bearing blocks with the bearings in off a shaft. Hydraulic puller keeps slipping off, but i understand wd40 squirted in to free the rust isnt the thing to use. Has anyone successfully used a penetrating spray that will actually help free the stuck shaft?
  9. Couldnt stand bloddie, or that flippin kate crumble, who thought she was the bees knees, she was crap on top gear, crap on springwatch. There is no beginnimgs to her talents. Have met packham, nice guy, and lets be honest, he does know his stuff, an awful lot more than bloddie. I know some on here have the knives out for him!
  10. You probably need all sorts of permission, by the time you have applied, they will say no from experience. My advice is just do it and wait for a problem if any! By the time its been complained about, you have finished!
  11. Heres hoping! The guy was supposedly a hydraulics repair man. Before he worked for vosa!
  12. There is, didnt notice any when i removed it to fill up, but will check
  13. Type in goodnature into amazon. Its a squirrel trap that uses compressed air to fire a hammer at its head. Death is instant, and the squirrel drops to the floor , plus the trap is then ready immediately for its next victim without any human intervention. Each air capsule is enough for 18 kills, and you get a handy counter on it to tell you the number of kills!
  14. Had a guy hiring a crusher off me. He rings at about 2 to say its been leaking oil all day, and the ram has now stopped working. So instead of reporting the oil leak straight away, he continued to use it! I found a loose fitting on a pipe, tightened it, then topped it up . Ran the machine, ram was painfully slow. Pump making a funny noise. Stopped it, released the breather , re attached and ran it again. Seemed better. Did this a few times and it does appear to be now working, but would any damage have been done to the pump in these circumstances? I am assuming lots of air has been pumped round the system
  15. Panels are 1.830m. Gravel boards are 1.830. These panels were 1.8 dead.
  16. When a customer rings up to say they have brought all the materials they just need me to install. Sorry, its supply and fit only. They never buy the correct stuff, and i am putting my name to inferior materials. The final straw before i brought in the rule was a guy brought some fancy panels and gravel boards, 3inch posts. I turned up, 6ft 6inch high fence, he brought 7ft posts. He had to go and change them, the whole time i was standing around not being able to get on. When he returns, no cleats for the gravel boards. He found some old battening to cut up. So i installed all posts and gravel boards, ready to then slot the panels in. And the panels were all 30mm too short. He tried to blame me, but i didnt supply the materials! I should of learnt first time around when he got me to put up some cheap panels he got that were obviously home made, as they were all out of square, somehow this was my fault too!
  17. I was referring to the micro machine segment!
  18. Kubota everytime. Thats why all hire companies run them. Bullet proof
  19. Had an ideal job to price up for a jcb. Dig out a soakaway, cart the soil using front bucket, cart tonne bag of gravel. Phoned a local guy, but he refused to use his front bucket for soil as 'it puts too much strain on the front axle'. I did it myself in the end with a 360 and a dumper. It worked out cheaper too!
  20. Yes, in fact thr skip will go flat on the ground, great for hiding tools under at night
  21. Parker are simply the best hydraulic components. But my mrs works for them so i have to be biased.!
  22. Out of interest, do the controls work the same as in a mini digger? Also, mate used to run one with his skip hire business, he used to have a guy driving it and sending him out on jobs, but he had to run it on white diesel only. Some sort of ruling from hmrc. Perhaps eddie might know more?
