  1. These manufacturers need to get off their high horse about this. Their responsibilty ends when the machine leaves the factory. If people want to modify them, it's up to them, and if they have spent upwards of £25,000, they should be allowed to unchallenged. It's nothing to do with anyone else. I can think of a certain chipper manufacturer who has threatened to sack people if they even dare to suggest to a customer that the fuel settings can be modified.
  2. Just noticed that's a pre 2006 machine. Battery is mounted in front of engine behind grill
  3. Luckily, I am expert on these machines. You have the wrong battery. Get yourself a dry cell, odyssey pc625 battery, and mount it in its correct position underneath the engine in its housing. Check what voltage you are getting at full revs, should be 14.5 volts. The regulators and wiring harnesses fail on these for a pastime., also check your earth cable is mounted on the back of the regulator and both wires to the generator are connected properly just behind starter motor.
  4. THIS ADVERT HAS EXPIRED!

This was a 1999 entec chipper that I stripped down and fully refurbished, and has been working well. Its recently had new bearings, blades and anvils, new battery, brand new no stress device, new indeed roller blades, brakes all done, new belts and belt tensioner. New indeed buttons . The hour clock stopped at 1600, when the refurb was donw and new one shows 48 hours. This is a really good powerful working chipper, 35hp. Everyone that uses is is Impressed. It's also very rare in the fact it has two speed indeed settings. Price is plus vat

  5. It does indeed have the old grey box, with a sensor pointing at the flywheel teeth. It has a green led on it. I assumed this worked ok, as when the rollers do work, the no stress kicks in fine. Be interested to see if timberwolf can upgrade but bart chipper doctor is coming out tomorrow so fingers crossed
  6. Correct. I cant comment on how good the cheaper ones are, but this is a tried and tested machine with positive feedback, built to last
  7. It does vibrate a bit, but far less effort and you wont get as worn out, or damage the top of the post, or have to climb a step ladder to swing the maul! It's not great on larger posts in stoney ground, unless you prime the hole to begin with. Other than that, it's a great bit of kit VID_49641015_003255_519.mp4
  8. Agreed. It's on his list, chipper not being used until its sorted!
  9. Actually I noticed the stop bar was not activating. So this could indeed be the issue!
  10. It's a new battery, so hoping its not that!
  11. This machine is a let entec, 1999. It's an unusual model, believed to be a factory project, it's got two speed rollers. I'm not sure what you mean by limit switches?
  12. Any ideas what's going on here? It was bad at the start of the day, sometimes rollers wont go forwards or back, the it will work for 5 mins or so, the stop again. Earlier they stopped , I left it running full revs for 5 mins, came back and pressed the button and off it went, worked for half a dozen branches or so, the stopped again. Have taken apart all multiplugs and cleaned them, checked the control box etc. Got bart chipper doctor coming out Tuesday to site, but I thought someone would know here first? 20230211_090813.mp4
  13. Dont suppose any one knows the exact spec and size of the above? I have a local supllier I can get them from, but as chipper is in use next week, I wanted to get them and fit them straight away to avoid downtime
  14. Thanks for the update! Good to hear it was easy and cheap to repair, and useful knowledge for others!

I brought 10 sheets 15 years ago. I have run 7.5tonne metal tracked machines on them, used them for garb lorries to load off and all sorts, and they have been a godsend. And 6mm ones too.
  17. Glad this worked out , and thanks for the update. So many times we never hear the outcome on these threads!
  18. I did wonder! But I assumed of the wood was seasoned it shouldn't really give off the toxins, and on a stove it would be ok? Open fire would be ok as long as excessive smoke doesnt eminate into the room
  19. New? You sell them and can post?
  20. Yes they did as they are local to them and they have an account. Same story. End of feb
  21. One of my relatives on a farm over in Essex wants to purchase the above, doesnt want to deal with George browns as they have had poor customer service. They seem to be out of stock till end of Feb near them, so I did a quick search of fr jones and honey bros, same issue! Anyone know why this would be?
  22. Stick with the diesel. It's cheaper to run, designed for the job and has the required torque
