  1. Smart truck and a nice easy phone number for the punters to remember.
  2. How much back lean or back weight on the tree?
  3. Here you go Stevie. Home made grab, its really for grabbing brash, but works ok for logs too. Some home made hedge topping shears to go on a 360 too!
  4. Other end.
  5. Here's one from a couple of years ago .....
  6. ....and the trailer to yoke on.
  7. Conkertastic-stuntfelling there, Pete!
  8. 1 m3 per hour worked, with a single blade splitter.
  9. Whilst working on a terraced street, with a wink of the eye to us, my old boss had us in stitches ... He said to the old lady customer, "Well if we can't get the Landrover and chipper round the corner into the tenfoot, we'll have to shove the lot up your back passage!" We were creased!
  10. Here's a 'how to' link. How To Increase The Performance Of Your 200/300tdi - LR4x4 - The Land Rover Forum Obviously, any tinkering is at your own peril.
  11. Mine scraped through the emissions test cos I forgot to turn the pump down before the test. A pass is a pass ...

  13. Not much to play with there, Rich.

  15. What's the background, Darren? It might be a 1 or it might be a heroic 11 depending upon the circumstances.
  16. I have always done the angled back cut, as it is how I was shown.
  17. That's extremely well observed. Maybe you could retrain as a tree surgeon and have time to spare like the rest of us? We get paid for having a jolly.
  18. I like the third picture. The wires make it look like your going really fast!
  19. Not bad for a beginner ....
  20. Little Dave doing a bit of stunt topping this afty. Gobbed slightly left of the space to allow for the drift with a strong side wind. The force is strong in this one ......
  21. 2.9 tonne?
  22. We were working near a Lidl so I got one today. Seems ok for 2 1/2 quid. And got some cheap beer too!
  23. Went where you wanted it, so alls good. I had one those 'over exuberant' tractor drivers the other week whilst felling a roadside elm. I couldn't weigh up why it was going over so quick while I was barely half way through the the other half of the back cut. I'd told him I would signal him when I wanted him to pull. He said afterwards, "nowt was happening, so I thought I'd give it a bit..." Dork. Just a good job it was a chewy elm and went over ok. If had been an ash it could have took my head off.
  24. High cut to make it fit the space. Counts for me.
  25. All the best Lorry and mrs Lorry. And the Thompson twins!
