  1. I have modded all my chippers with fold down chutes for access and storage.
  2. You can't get him if you want him, I've tried. The lad's just tooooo busy!
  3. Boards, like Dean says. Do you need a landy in there? Is it just to pull the chipper onto the site? Tracked chipper job, maybe?
  4. Could be the water pump or water pump gasket. I know its not a tractor, but I have had the same symptoms on a couple of land rovers and a transit over the years, and thats what it was each time.
  5. Only 'Lucky' Lofthouse could dig a pond and find a drain in the bottom of it!
  6. I'd crack on, fill it in and keep quiet, Dean. You know what your luck's like, Time Team will get wind of it and start a two year dig through the middle of your new yard!
  7. Power-fed mobile wood chippers – What's new at HSE Current spec. I don't think it that big a job to get an engineer to make something suitable.
  8. If you are going to employ anyone to use it, you will need to update the feed bar to current HSE spec.
  9. Beat me to it, Brett!
  10. Sad loss. Saw him live, one of the best acts I've seen.
  11. It was a tongue in cheek comment. Meaning that, I can't believe that it took half a day to gob and back cut that tree, when you had prepped the tree before hand and cut off the buttress flare.
  12. Nice job! You were obviously on a day rate then! Half an hour, more like!
  13. An ideal day for topping a huge conifer hedge today. All the tops at our side of the boundary, credit to Dave and Ben the two climbers who worked very well.
  14. What make is the aftermarket kit? I was toying with a similar idea to replace the motor on a 361 that got damaged last year.
  15. Just watched this one. You have set a new benchmark, now Dean! Top stuff! I don't know if you are still in touch with Kev Moss, but if you are, ask him about the poplar I felled diagonally through the gate at Driffield showground a few years back! It was very much in the same vein.
  16. Two trailers behind a tractor and you are officially limited to 12 mph.
  17. Yep, it ain't like the old days... Still get the odd one or two though.
  18. Nice one. I like jobs like that.
  19. Just a bollocking, fortunately. The man concerned may be on later.....
  20. Its been done and its not legal on the road. A member on here found out first hand.
  21. Are you VAT reg?
  22. I didn't have any trouble with mine other than what you would expect of any older piece of machinery being worked hard. Neither of 'em owed me any money.
  23. I've had 2 turntable ones and rated them. They are actually 7". The 4cyl turbo one was well on top of its work. Both quite heavy, which means they are robust, but the downside is towing. Check for spares availability nowadays, I don't know who is doing them. The Tunnissen 190 is basically the latest up to date incarnation.
  24. Sounds interesting, John. Will all the saws be initially calibrated with a new sprocket and chain?

    Ms 440

I have a 440 magnum (US Spec). It is an excellent saw both for felling large stuff and a good size and not too heavy to handle in the harness or mewp. Balances nicely with a 20" bar. Probably a bit on the big side for what you want, but if the money's right, don't pass it up. You will be able to do just about anything with a 15" and a 20" bar for it.
