  1. Output on any processor depends on the diameter of the timber you are putting through it, the length of log you are cutting, if you are using a loading rack, if you are single handed etc. Looking at it then it looks similar to my JAPA 700, with a load rack and a teleporter working single handed cutting logs from about 75mm to 300mm dia at 240mm long I do about 2 cube an hour, thats about 1000 saleable logs. That includes time spend loading the rack and stacking away the processed product. If I was cutting at 480mm then I would be doing getting on for four. A
  2. How much !!, £800, Try my man as I recommended above; Circular Saw, Bandsaw Blades UK He made mine to order for my JAPA 700, thats 700mm, TCT with a 30 or 35mm bore. Bore I needed was not one he had in stock, I thought price was good, 177.50 + VAT delivered, that was about a year ago now. Delivery was a few weeks but as it was a spare it did not matter. A
  3. No, I got a guy near Bozeat to do it for me, £24 + VAT for the 700mm and a couple of 225mm blades. I am surprised you get 200t out of it, I was cutting 75% soft /25% hard, did about 100 tons last year, sharpened midway and again after I had finished. A
  4. Output would be governed by the availablility of a teleporter or similar to load a feed rack and what length you wanted your logs cut to. It takes twice the time to cut at 240mm than it does at 500mm. Suspect you both may be better off buying a used small procerssor and tractor. A
  5. It would aid your cause to indicate lengths and diameters, people will be looking to put it through processors. Haulage would kill it for me. Thanks, A
  6. Some older Fords had issues with porus engine blocks. Bought a MF135 last night off a guy who runs 12 Fords, mainly 76s and 77s with a TW10 and a 3610, most on hedge trimming. A
  7. There is a guy in Birmingham who will build you one, he made me a 700mm for my JAPA. Pretty reasonable. PM me for details if needed. A
  8. I use Grabber ATs on my Disco, barring punctures I have one that has so far done 100,000 miles with about 10000 left in it. Punctures killed the other 3 in that set. As for performance they go most places off road, most not all. On road they are as good as standard road tyres. No excessive noise, I did not notice any difference on road to the road tyres they replaced. BFG ATs are alleged to be good for 120/130k according to the LR forums given a nail less road. A A
  9. Cant speak about their saws but they do certainly make excellent drills etc, I have had their drills for over 20 years with no serious problems. A
  10. I would agree that Fuel wood are a good company. I have just had my JAPA 700 blade sharpened, around £20 inc VAT, that will do 50 tons plus. A
  11. AND its only 5% when you sell it to the end user, sell it to someone for resale and its 20%. A
  12. Having had a look at the Lohberger site I cannot see how that will perform any differently than your Esse unless it has an internal return temp control and it looks like you only have one oven. A
  13. Agreed a door should not be banana shaped, never seen one myself but none the less that does not sound good. All stove manufactures say a MC of 16-18% is ok, anything over 20% to to wet. If you are having ongoing issues with your Esse then speak to David Randleson at Esse about the installation of a boiler control assembly. A
  14. Esse do provide brushes and scrapers with every new applianace and they are also available seperatly from your local Esse cooker dealer. Not quite sure what you mean when you say the burner needs replacing every year ?. If you mean the thing in the top of the firebox that looks like a waffle then that is viewed as a consumable item as is everything else in direct contact with the fire. I have never had or seen a door with a crack in it, I have also never sold a replacement door. Do you mean a gap around the door where the rope sits ?. Cooker doors are all heavy cast iron and all except Ironheart are enamaled. A
  15. This gumming up is caused by the returning cold water, the firebox cannot get up to temperature while continually surrounded by a lot of cold water, this means that crerosotes in the wood are not getting combusted untill the firebox gets up to temperature, instead they are condensing in the flue ways and gumming the system up. This is an issue with all boiler appliances to a greater or lesser degree. I have never has a non boiler Esse appliance suffer with this issue and even the boiler ones it only happens occasionally. Esse have now devised a Compatatable Boiler Control unit that limits returning cold water untill the firebox reaches optimum operating temperature. This is fitted external to the appliance into the water system. So in other words it gets the cooker and boiler up to temperature first before getting to work on the water system other than the small amount of water in the boiler when starting off. Talk to David Randleson at Esse for more details or pm me. I am an Esse cooker and stove dealer. A
  16. Esse have two size boilers on the standard model. The WD which has a boiler of 7000BTU of heat per hour to the water and 3 - 5 kw of radiant heat to the kitchin and the W35 model with a 33000 BTU per hour (9.7kw) boiler and 4.2kw of heat to the kitchin. This model has two proper cooking overs as opposed to the one oven and a plate warming oven on the Rayburn. The larger 3 oven 990D model has a smaller firebox as it has an additional oven, with boiler heat output to water is 6670 BTU per hour and about 3.-5kw to the kitchin. The Esse Ironheart has a small boiler only, heat to water up to 2.6kw but a massive 8kw to the room. Have sold many Ironhearts for farmhouses, cottages etc for fitting in place of old ranges in alcoves, people love them. As seen as River Cottage on Channel 4. Esse have a price rise coming for all order placed after 1st June. A A
  17. I have just had some from Bag Supplies. they are there abouts on price and the quality is good. Only downside in the cost of carriage, £36 for 50 bags ! A
  18. There have been a number of very cheap processors on ebay over the last six months, usually one of us wants to go and see it, suddenly its not available. I would personally steer clear. A
  19. ESSE call that the secondary burn, A
  20. Had mine running 24-7 for the last three weeks or so. Also started selling firewood again so others are doing the same. A
  21. Now thats a log and a half. A

    Hetas

    Agreed. A
  23. Alycidon

    Hetas

if you are a major seller then it may be worth considering especially as its tax deductible, I cant see it being viable for smaller sellers though. You need to provide an audit channel for your logs, keep records of where timber in a customers bag comes from and what the MC at point of sale is. Minimum MC allowed is 25%. It does give new stove owners peace of mind but they probably will not be prepared to pay extra for Hetas approved logs. A
  24. I am buying 50 a year at present, they are tax deductible and VAT reclaimable, that reduces actual costs significantly. A
  25. With kiln dried logs from the Baltic countries and Russia flooding in I think that is a hard ask, their costs will be far cheaper than yours. A
