  1. Turnover jump would imply a big contract for shops/garage chain. Web site says its pretty well all supplied in nets !!, yet crates are also for sale. No way with his gear can he handle a 2 cube crate at point of delivery without hand balling it. Mind you it says free stacking included !!. Good businesses are usually valued at last 3 years audited profit + stock and machinery at current book valuation. As Doobin says there is nothing to stop anyone buying from the Baltic and doing the same. At £160 or more for a cube crate all be it stacked he is at the top end price wise. If he can get it good luck to him. A
  2. I spend 500/1000 hours a year as a part time unpaid beatkeeper and put far more back that I take out. I have done that for the last 40+ years, will put in half a day today, did another half day Sunday. I also co captain and stand in a gun line who consist of normal salt of the earth working blokes that you would find in any high street. To label shooting folk as fat and pompous as some one did earlier does not fit gun lines I have experienced in almost 50 years now. There will though always be an odd prat who is just that.
  3. Any film of the cleaner anywhere or is it the Fuelwood fit most conveyor one ?. A
  4. I did notice there seemed to be no grid in the bottom of the splitting area and visible rubbish was dropping into the bag with every flight on the conveyor. A
  5. Got a friend near Kettering who may be interested, will send him the details, not sure if he is a member here. A
  6. Good, its called an octane booster. Petrol does go ff and loose its octane value if stored for more than a month or two. Not aware of any down sides, I pop a bit in any petrol left after the summers chainsawing and lawn mowing. A
  7. This was close to me for a friend who is also a competitor, think he is registered here, A cube in three and a half minutes, pretty impressive, A
  8. Having done a bit of research since the electric off road pallet handlers are over 8k. Think I will carry on with my standard pump truck !!. A
  9. Here is a novel solution for billet cutting. Logs would to long for UK stoves but a good idea none the less, A
  10. This looks interesting, looks like the link is for the French firewood company rather than the pallet handler. Anyone any idea on the handler?. ://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gx6avFL0ApE It looks like it takes a hell of a lot of space ( and weight), I would think the trailer is 16 feet. It is though ideal for the job, like a longer lower GD106. Three of those packs and the handler would be a handy load. A
  11. Morso DB15 boiler stove uses the same Down Burn technology. Not Defra but thats possibly acedemic anyway. Heat output to water is only 8.8kw max on logs so probably not suited to the posters requirements. Since my posts in the spring things have moved on, there is now a Stratford dedicated wood burning boiler stove that can be sold at 5% VAT, there will shortly be at least one more. Morso DB15 can I think now be used in a pressured system, pretty sure I noticed extra qwenching water inlet and outlet ports when I was having a look at one a few weeks ago. Evo26 is cheap for what it is and is about the only stove that is eligible for RHI grants. God knows how they got it approved though. A
  12. 150 cube, almost all hardwood. A
  13. I also feel like that, think its quite common in older folks, we have killed our share. I have given up deer stalking and am doing almost no pheasant shooting this time. Getting into photography. A
  14. Splitter, probably 20 ton. Fuel/ oil tank for chainsaw. A
  15. We do have one tractor with a 50 kph cog in the gearbox but it is only used to pull light loads. Heavy grain trailers are pulled with bigger conventionally geared tractors. Dont think I fancy doing 50mph in a tractor, even 25mph on a old lady is way to fast given the normal play in the steering. A
  16. As no one is caring to comment I assume you have some costs, if so advise roughly where you are and what cost for what timber. The issue affecting delivered in prices is the cost of haulage and how far the felling site is from you. I did ask Euroforest for prices a couple of years ago but finished up buying from Nick Channor here. A
  17. The Dove boiler stove is a classic old stove designed around the use of smokeless coal although it burns wood well. Morso's new DB15 boiler stove is arguably the most advanced boiler stove in the world. Downburn technology even allows the use of bituminous coal. Morso DB15 - Morsø Making Life Warmer A
  18. Stoves or wood burning cookers when used in a pressurised (pumped) system need to automatically get rid of excess heat in the event of an electricty cut ( so no pumping). Some of the leading manufacturers have come up with an additional cold feed to the boiler with a linked outlet taking the hot water out of the building. Called a Qwench system I have seen it on the new Esse 990CHQ cooker and the Morso DB15 boiler stove. Does not sound like this stove is so fitted but the pipework on the back is far more complicated than a standard boiler stove so it may have some system to achieve the same thing. Grande 14kW Solid Fuel Boiler Stove Looking at the price it must be chinese in origin, I would question the availability of parts especially if the current importer goes under. Other than glass and firebricks generally parts are not routinely available for chinese stoves. Average service life of a chinese stove is around 5 years, as such they represent very poor value for money compared to Stratford which are English made from English steel with a 5 year boiler warranty, They are my favourite boiler stove and represent excellent value. Cost is over double the chinese one though, The output is stated at 6kw to the room so fine for a 7m x 5m room with average insulation. 8kw to water will run 3 600x 1000 double rads allowing for 1kw of heat loss in the pipework. There is no separate outlet for DHW which seems odd unless its intended to dump all its heat into a bulk energy store. Usually boiler stoves have two inlets and two outlets. So you pays your money you takes your pick. A
  19. Or an Ecofan. A
  20. Yes there is a proposed standard, think its bring driven by the Renewable Energy Association. A
  21. All depends on cost and what sort of quality. Haulage costs would kill it above 75 miles unless a 44 tonner loaded. Probably get more of an uptake asking the same question in January when a lot of folk have sold out. A
  22. Anyone with an empty trailer would be glad of it as a back load, price sounds good for the product, cheaper than importing it yourself, Talk to your local hauliers, ideally one with a curtain sider. A
  23. Prices are in line with several companies abroad that I have costed product from for this winter. Personally my method of delivery means I can only use 1 cube crates. As the product is being sold on line direct to end users ( ie our customers) then personally I would not support someone I am competing with. A
  24. You wont get British to stack in crates that appear on their website. Its imported is my bet. A
