  9. I know its boring but i rely on repitition. Either writing it down over and over or just speaking it over with the other half. Then i just real it off!
  10. Is there anyone on the the forum who deals with this kind of machinary for a living and lives fairly nearby? At present i am having to rent a machine for my next stump day, a week thursday! and just feel that i would rather spend that money on getting my machine A1. Any takers i will drive around two hours away for a good quick service:thumbup:
  11. hi graham I had just found Kohlers online manuals and they have suggested worn piston rings. Is that the same thing or not? Yeah i think there was a hint of white smoke to start with then disappeared when i put the plug in last time. But none today. I think after reading up a bit its either the ht leads or as you said the piston ring valvy thing:lol:
  12. Yeah was thinking along your lines paul, and i am going to get the ht leads checked! Was advised last time by a friend that it could be some kind of seal or ring:confused1: any thoughts?
  13. Hi guys I have a problem with my stump grinder and i hope that someone on here has a good soloution, idea or just a laugh at my expense. It has been a mare over the winter with the machine i have sorted out the electrics and starter moter, and now she turns over well and runs. Took it out after this work today to test her on a smallish willow stump. I will be honest i had a restless sleep over it, and today she let me down just like i thought she would! It ran fine for a little while then she started losing power and dogging out on the stump. Addmitedly the teeth are in need of a sharpen but didn't feel like the teeth belt kind of power loss. Then oil/petrol mix started leaking from round the exhaust port and slightly from the exhaust. No smoke. Oh and it is running only on one cylinder, which i tested with the ht leades. This has happened before and was made better by a new spark plug. however this spark plug has only done around 6hrs max:sneaky2: So now i am stuck wondering what to do:confused1: Is there anyone out there that this makes sense to and who could give me some sound advice. Pics of the machine to follow Oh and i am ready for the burn it and scrap it brigade and the should have got a rayco blah blah:lol:So thanks in advance for any info
  14. The logic is probably more to do with if something goes wrong then there is someone to raise an alarm or administer First Aid. Or the customer in the house would do:001_tongue:
  15. Glad its not just me. I hate that lying in bed thinking of a monster tree to find in the morning light it isn't that bad. Oh and the "i will be home at 2 love only a small job on" Still there at 6pm with an hour to go!

  20. Nice one spikey i have been using the one you recommended and within 1 hr i have nailed it just need to put in another hour inserting the paragraphs:thumbup1:! Would recommend that one mrstump if you are ok with computers. One question though spikey after you publish can you alter things to keep it fresh ie put discounts online then remove afterwards? Really happy as i have no money to advertise and i want a internet pressence:thumbup:
  21. Is that £40 cash? And with my exceptionally shocking math skills i have worked that out to be 30 Days/ 6 weeks @8hr day! £1200 in all. not bad plus the vast majority of us have to pay to commute to work. I agree that its tight he hasn't given you a fill of fuel and oil:laugh1:.
  22. I gave up smoking and since then i have odd change in my pockets wheras when i smoked i was always looking for pennies everywhere for fags. Now i do like to spend that spare cash on a butty, cake or a can:laugh1: but since getting back self employed at these leaner times i make do with the box of sarnies! oh and i am 30 so still young in my head:laugh1:
  23. When i work for other people i just put down either; 1 X amount of hours labour inc fuel or 2 1 days Labour etc. Is that wrong, Although i don't work for just the one company?
  24. Also i think there is a rule about time inbetween shifts must be over 8hrs?, thats from when i work 12hr shift pattern.
