  1. There must be engineering companies even in Portugal. I've never used my G.M dealer for my blades. Ty
  2. "Beware the Orange Plant bearing Lemons"... Ty
  3. I'd buy an HB20 again tomorrow if starting over. The Carlton 4012 is a machine with serious traction issues in 2WD, piss poor electronics and a world wide dealership made up of strategically shaved monkeys and con-men... Ty
  4. I've never seen a lawn in France worth the trouble. There are however many overly precious bordering on mania about getting a mark on their cream coloured rendering from branches whilst in the same breath having a lawn peppered with lawn sausages which they cannot see a problem for us working around... Ty
  5. My advertising budget is less than 5% of turnover, 2014 figure was 3.75%. Would you REALLY hand over all that just for a positive refferal? Think again... Ty
  6. In the Limoges, no one hears you scream... Ty:001_cool:
  7. 3 times now, we are roadside and apart from heavy gates and a strong room very little security (at the moment...) due to planning being stalled on our workshop renovation and extension. CS gas alarm, cameras and hidden ones are all on the cards. Circus is in town and since Xmas a group of 'punks' with dogs begging in town. However, I've got my money on that old favourite, travellers. Seb thinks he saw our one of our hedgecutters on LeBonCoin (Gumtree type site) being sold by a certain 'Lennie' which is a proper poikey name. I for one would love to catch thieves in the act. My desire involves stunning a thief, tying him up and taking him to the pig farm of Mr Le Gros up the road before acting out Bricktops script from Snatch (in French) to scare the living daylights out of the weasel. I don't wish to screw up my life with a rash act but there again I don't think I'll be reported for kidnapping with threatening and abusive behaviour... Ty
  8. We got hit last week. I'm too upset to go into details but it hasn't stopped us running 8 guys despite having lost so much. So we stick our middle fingers up at the thieves and carry on regardless supported by the knowledge that we are more than just a few 'tools'... Ty
  9. Hello, Hope to clear up this specimens i.d on a liquid amber. Cheers. Ty
  10. Thumbs up for the light in the infeed How hard to retro fit that? Ty
  11. It's the sales director that wants birching for not leading his staff to excellence. Ty
  12. I thought the 240 was the turntable model TW stopped producing soon after it was launched. Ty
  13. That is the closest Skyhuck and I will ever get to agreeing on something... Ty:laugh1: Beware the Orange Plant bearing Lemons...
  14. Seems this local school found a cheaper quote than ours... Ty
  15. All 3 out today. Seb doing quotes in the Navarra. Davy pruning fruit trees with Shah in the 3.5t Auld Rab and I in the 7t (left the GM 190 on site) Removing a dusty old conifer hedge. Sign writing should be ready for the new truck shortly. Ty
  16. I was visiting a major Stihl dealer in Rennes when in walks an African fellow and orders 4 Stihl 088 saws. I was mostly ignored there after but learned from the dealer that most 088's sold in France are for export to sub Saharan Africa. Ty
  17. What is Carravagio doing straying from Renaisance painting? Surely his forte is not in light engineering? Best to leave such matters to Leonardo Da Vinci. Ty
  18. 3k net! I'll never really know how it all went as I wasn't there to witness it. I had 5 days on these stumps with a 4012 and the main contractor ragged them out and chipped them up in a morning. K'ching! Ty
  19. So faced with a series of troublesome stumps in hard to reach places I subbed 2 jobs out. One on a small site clearance the other for the new underground line in Rennes. First job we got robbed on. I had a deadline to meet and the local 'competitor' boosted his price accordingly. Even told me about the impact I have had on his turnover. He may have reamed my sphincter over a few hard to reach stumps but in the game of long bowls I am clearly winning. I got to see what a Carlton 5014 could do (blunt teeth) Our 4012 with sharp teeth could beast a 5014 but alas could not mount the bank. The second site clearance, we felled a line of cypress to make way for the new metro station. The stumps we subbed out to the main contractor who dealt with them in our absence (sadly) along with his own stumps but was still on site when we passed on the last afternoon. The 360 machine is 30t and the large 'pinch' I am sitting in was made in their own workshops. This pinch is used to crush stumps thus removing most of the earth. The crushed stumps then went through a Bandit beast. I made nothing on the first job but grossed 3k on the second. It cost me a few site meetings and calls, nothing more. However dealing with disgruntled local 'competitors' is VERY much more difficult and alot less profitable.. . Ty
  20. Maybe just my phone internet connection. Regards Ty
  21. Hello, Just to say that I am unable to post images from my Galaxy phone. Previously no issues. Ty
  22. Last few days, staying at the former Vanderbilt residence Paris side of Normandy. Davy got to test his throwline cannon out on a few 45m+ plane trees. Took these today, Saturday morning before leaving as the weather has been too foul for any decent tree work shots. Still need a climber here in Brittany for a few weeks if anyone is free. Ty
  23. Not here, although the old custom was to charge a client 50euros for a quote and take 30% up in front before you started a job. This has all but died out these days. Ty
  24. We use an air 'cannon' A simple device made from plastic plumbing materials 30euros. I'll post some images of it. We can get 8 bar pressure and 60m vertical. Ty
  25. I'd stay away from google translate, it's just produces bad Arabic (charabia) It doesn't translate at all although I know what your saying. "J'ai dit mon derniere mot" Would be correct. I make these literal translations every day and it is a wonder I've got as far as I have here. My wife and associates are used to my bad French:001_rolleyes: Ty
