    When I came back from N.Z in 2009 it is the very same set up I ran although my Lider trailer was a longer version. I then added a Bandit HB20 and that gave 3 of us almost full time work until 2012 when we bought an Iveco 3.5t tipper and a Quadchip. Lucky Eleven is going places! Ty

    The local saw mills always scan the wood with a metal detector. M.Launay has a drawer full of shrapnel which he delights in showing. Sometimes from unlikely sources like a stray bomb in an area that saw little or no action. Sometimes from a woodland that saw shelling but was forgotten. Often, slugs from boar hunters. Ty

    I'm moving over to this brand: Elagueuse thermique FPCSP25 25cm 900w - CASTORAMA At todays exchange rate this rather jolly 'topper' works out at a mere £59 so considering the repair bills we get for both Husky and Stihl top handles, it would be cheaper to buy one of these every month! Ty:thumbup:

    In 2010 we posted around 2000 flyers and won 4 very small jobs, less than 2k worth. Parking a signwritten vehicle on the roadside proved more successfull. Sponsoring local sports teams calendars and publicity etc is cheap and worthwhile. More word of mouth from those involved. Free maps of the town a dead loss (expensive) A web presence totally invaluable. Yellow pages too. Having a tidy t'shirt with company name on. Cards in a couple of dozen newsagents works and is cheap but remember to go back and renew. Best of luck! Ty

    You know, the figure that really interests me when this type of discussion comes up is not the monetary value of the job but the time taken in man hours. From this each individual should be able to work backwards assuming he knows his own costs to obtain a minimum price for the work. After which he may add a margin for profit depending on the likelihood of him getting the work. Ty

    Well done Mick, saved me some work there. The 'tir sevre' sap risers are supposed to aid the tree recovery. Prissy urban folk like us to shave off all the little epicormic growths that help kickstart a pollards recovery and frown at us when we suggest otherwise. Ty
