  1. Simple job, a reduction of this willow which had suffered fissures and a couple of limb breakouts. The client was also adamant that sufficient branches where left over hanging the lake to provide shade for his Koy carp. I took these images before the end of the job, there was still some lower branch dead wooding to do. The end result pleased him so much we got fed and a bottle of wine each to take home. Ty
  2. I sold our 18hp CS100 with 300 odd hours (tacho from new) for 600 less than I paid. Ty
  3. A little bread and butter job. The local gardeners quote was cheaper but I pointed out to the client that they'd be buying their cherries from the supermarket next year...and the year after... Ty
  4. If you sell it to France, shipping is maybe 100/150 but you will get your money back maybe more as they are highly sought after here plus the new price is far higher in France. Forums like Allo Olivier, ebay.fr or leboncoin.fr Ty
  5. Why don't you just tell us what you want for it instead? After all, you know how much you paid for the machine. Age wise, a look at the blades and paint in the hopper reveals much... Ty
  6. I would be wary of letting a new untried and inexperienced employee work alone feeding even a wee GM CS100 let alone a 125hp 15" BC1500. Ty
  7. Soak the glowplugs in a freeing oil for a few days beforehand when the machine is not going to be used. If you crack off a glow plug head you may be as I was... Some 200euros out of pocket for a specialist to remove. Even worse for me was as it was on a common rail engine, the injector required re-programming (removed for access) which the apprentice mechanic couldn't do until his boss returned some 2 weeks later. Best of luck with that. Ty
  8. You mean "Who is better at earning money?" I'm a tree surgeon (in 10 easy weeks ha ha ha!) But I employ Arborists. Ty
  9. Are you from a developing world nation by chance? Ty
  10. Removing this radiata today. Previously attempted by a local lone working climber who made half a dozen cuts before having a stroke whilst in the tree. He managed to get himself down thankfully before one side of his body froze up but will never work again at 52 years of age. 12m cube of chip and 3m cube of rakings mostly clusters of pine cones too awkward to feed into the Quadchip. Once again our JD1026 came into it's own as a brash dragger and log mover. Ty
  11. I sent an email to a non-payer telling them that I will be traveling to Jersey and wished to book a table at their restaurant for my lawyer and I and so may as well collect the outstanding lucre at the same time. (I do actually have a company and financial lawyer as a friend on Jersey) Worked and last week accounts recieved the cheque. Ty
  12. I think we are damn lucky not to have the real poison ivy here as an invasive species. Time yet though... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toxicodendron_radicans Ty
  13. Re-pollard of a Liriodendron in town. Super thin re-growth, much of it sitting on pockets of rot. It was last done 5 years ago. It is booked in for a re-structuration pruning in 2017. Perhaps we can save more of it's character this way. I love the smell of the chips, sweet and citrus. Ty
  14. Looking at Wood Wasp's link I would like to point out that France has many regions that suffer terribly from flooding. Ty
  15. Click on the image to see the price. Ty
  16. Ah, it's all too complicated. It's late, lets all get drunk and talk dirty about girls instead... Ty
  17. Ah, I now read that for goods I am transporting for sale, woodchip and wood, I require a CPC. AND... an employee of from another member state working in another state BUT...I'm not an employee. I'm an employer. Ty
  18. Hello, As I understand from reading (I'm good at that) I do not require a CPC for a 7.5t truck as driving is NOT my occupation. I am carrying toolsand equipment to be used in my work. Quote: Exemptions You are exempt if the vehicle you drive: is carrying material or equipment to be used by the driver in the course of his or her work, provided that driving the vehicle is not the driver's principal activity So I'm good yeh? It's just my big mouthed Northern monkey of a Brother-in-Law (HGV driver) is telling me I'm wrong (like I've ever been right in his eyes) Any-one...? Cheers Ty
  19. Well, I've had a yearning to own one since I first went to Merrist wood in 1992 So I went onto Amazon to satisfy my long overdue desire only to find that an overdraft is required. Here: [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B000S9TIW4/ref=tmm_pap_new_olp_sr?ie=UTF8&condition=new&qid=1448657117&sr=8-4]@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/512IuZQ%2BHmL.@@AMEPARAM@@512IuZQ%2BHmL[/ame] After I had stopped laughing I went onto Abebooks.co.uk and bought one for a few pence plus reasonable postage. Black Friday my arse... Ty
  20. Was it the work experience groundy? Ty
  21. Does this model's exhaust feed into the chipper chute? I wonder if having the extra hot air pushing chip through keeps the chute dryer? Changing the shear bars around certainly helped but our Quad at 950hours is pants on small stuff even up to 2cm at times. It just gets sucked up to the top of the rollers and not drawn in unless a packet is fed or fed in with larger wood. Ty
  22. We run on white during cold spells and red otherwise after experiencing this issue. The extra cost is well offset by the lack of downtime and stress. Ty
  23. Take finance out on a second and store her elsewhere... Ty
  24. Possibly the very worst company (at management level) I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Ty
