  1. It's not grammar either. We called it 'spelling' at Junior school... Ty
  2. Oh good grief... Rogue not rouge. Rouge being slang French for lipstick. Rogue being the name my Gran gave me whenever I did...like anything. Ty
  3. Many guys here use this company. KOX forestry online shop I'm more Waitrose than Lidl in my shopping tastes so fed up of hearing good things and not being able to comment myself, I've finally decided to take a punt on a bar and 5 chain bundle offer. 120euros inc vat for a 50cm bar and 5 semi-chisel chains. That's around 100 of your post Brexit vote pounds. Ty
  4. I'm in 'Le Merdre'... Client sent me this and other images. Stains worse my 5month boys vomit on a new leather jacket... Ty
  5. One good thing about having more French than Brit clients is the lack of homemadefly pies. Ty
  6. Any-one changed the anvils on a Quadchip...? Good fun wasn't it...? Ty
  7. End of a day last week I got offered a beer by Naughty I know but I had at least 2 hours before I was due home so the wife wouldn't smell it on me. With dusk falling I didn't see the label as the client handed me the bottle. Necking it with maximum enthusiasm, I choked and spluttered on a vile sickly liquid. Trying to focus on the label, in French I read 'Bien Vu' biere sans alcohol... Translates as Supermarket Value alcohol free beer... Blerk! Ty
  8. I had a 80hp kangoo van. It was a pocket rocket. The 60hp I hired for a few days test/work was a gutless slug by comparison. Ty
  9. How will a home made/modified chipper conform to the new stricter E.U regs for safety? Ty
  10. I'm betting you pinched Mick's sticks! Mick also quoted for that one as since Brexit he's had to look for work further afield... Ty:lol:
  11. This is a usefull accessory. Cône de débusquage - Nicolas le forestier And no, a traffic cone is no replacement... Ty
  12. Because now you live on your own? Or your tea tastes of Gunk...? Ty:biggrin:
  13. Can I use that wording in a quote Mick? It's almost Shakespeare in it's depth of meaning... Ty
  14. I'm with Mick. Spiking a willow never did one harm. If you spike in Summer the scars close over in weeks. Ty
  15. Why, that's just sooooo ala Francais Ty
  16. He'll need to invest in an electric stumpgrinder to comply with local Sunday noise abatement by-laws... Plug it into lamposts:lol: Ty
  17. ARRRGH! Again! After 5min of chipping since we tightened these joints. This time it's in a country lane and I'll get away using sawdust. G.M France are sending a replacement chipper and it's due to arrive Monday. This afternoon I'll be finishing the Quadchip which I'm glad we kept as a back up. Ty
  18. On a recently laid tarmac drive... Whilst I was hospitalised due to being stung 7 times by Asian Hornets, one of our chippers blew a hose. (it actually just came undone, second time too...) Then it emptied almost the entire hydro tank over the clients drive before any-one noticed. I visited the client today and oh my...I have some cleaning up to do Wednesday morning. Thing is, other than detergents, what else is good on oil. I'll be down the the local hydraulic specialist first thing to see what they use. A bit lost me... Ty:blushing:
  19. Going rate for the average salaried climber here. Converted using the pre-Brexit vote rate) Wee tree work, wee wage... Ty
  20. I've had one who forgot where we where working over lunch... Ty
  21. What are these guys doing? Nibbling the extremities of 50m London Planes? Daily crane dismantles? These guys must be few and far between because domestic tree work (which I imagine makes up the vast percentage of what we all do) surely can't justify a 'salary' of more than 25k, as for a sub contractor 40k gross 'pro-rata' perhaps is reasonable. Ty
  22. That coming from you I don't believe, after all your writing on Arbtalk about stress, family and midget porn.... well maybe not the last one, maybe that was Bolam... Ty:lol:
  23. That figure, every day? 240 working days a year? Pull the other one! Ty:001_rolleyes:
  24. Dealers...they deal, then duck 'n' dive. It would be better if for sales G.M sold direct to the customer avoiding useless 3rd parties. G.M have been very good to me all down the line from the day I visited the factory to buy my first chipper a CS100. Support over the phone is A1 and the guys are very patient in a crisis. Following my comment on here about our Quadchip bodywork fissuring and breaking up, PeteB sent out a new panel all the way to France on the condition I fit it myself and never return to Britain ever again...harsh but fair. In return, I ordered a new G.M 200 which is due in before Xmas I hope:thumbup: Ty
